Finished watching Breaking Bad?? What next? Any suggestion?

Can someone please suggest a good TV show which also have finished, so I can watch it one after another.

We don't know what you've already seen. Two of my favourite shows are The Sopranos and Six Feet Under.

Actually I only started getting into TV Shows, always been an Movie Addict before.

What are some of your favourite movies? That'll make it easier for people to recommend you TV shows.

I like watching modern time shows, not into Old Fashion clothing shows. I like either present days or the future types. Also I like crime related shows. No romance type they are boring to watch on TV shows.

I like Action movies mainly. Guns and stuff. Or Horror, Crime, Thriller types.

For some reason I found this show really hard to enjoy. I didn't find it as exciting as something like breaking bad.

OP, if you want to watch awesome badness, try the Spartacus remake. Some terrible bits but soooo many giblets.

Check out The Sopranos then. And for action Prison Break & 24.

I also recommend Dexter, but I've only seen the first three seasons.

the 4th was really good mate, definitely better than the 3rd (for dexter that is).

i personally like boardwalk empire and game of thrones, of the current tv series at least. there is quite a bit of dialogue though.

The Wire is definitely a slow-burner and hard to get in to. I don't consider it a classic, but I know many who do, but I also know a lot of peeps who couldn't get into it at all.


I'm looking forward to watching all of Dexter again. Will probably start on it sometime next year.

Ye watch The Wire, its like Breaking Bad but mostly from police point of view :P (i know, thats not even close to describing this show but he watched BB so i figured it would be good to encourage him to watch ;p)

The Wire is a classic! Everybody says so! Sopranos is also great, but doesn't come close to The Wire.

you know the reason why dexter took such a nosedive after 4 seasons right? the writer jumped ship.. you could totally tell by the dropoff in the quality of the writing. so much shit in the last 3-4 seasons made my eyes roll.. horrible, horrible writing.

also, downton abbey is a british show.. it must be gay. i couldn't get into it.

I just try watching The Wire. I can't get into it. Is Dexter finished yet? I like Dexter, but don't want to watch it until it is final.

I think I will watch Prison Break, I only watched the 1st Season.

Keep posting for suggestion please. I want to have a list to go to, when I run out of things to watch.

dexter ended in september.. the whole series. as mentioned previously, all seasons after the 4th were horrible due to poor writing/change in exec producer.

Downton is drab as fuck. Don't know why the American's seems to love it so much.

Try Person of Interest/White Collar if you want something new, or House of Cards if you like political games etc.

forgot to mention.. orange is the new black, to me at least, is by far the best new tv series. i don't care much for jason biggs on the show, but everyone else in it is pretty damn good.

House of Cards was great. Looking forward to the next season.

i'm looking forward to the next season of shameless (U.S. version).. it's probably my 3rd favorite show after GoT and boardwalk empire. IMO it's better than the U.K. version, which i didn't like so much.

Pssh. Shameless Uk is pretty good, but have only seen the first couple of episodes of the US show, Shameless without it's Britishness just isn't Shameless. Remakes are hardly ever better than their originals. Just look at The Inbetweeners and The Office.

i agree that remakes are usually not better than the originals, but i like the U.S. version a lot more than the UK one. it's got a lot of heart actually. i think a lot of people watch the originals, and nothing will compare to them.. even if the newer version is actually better. then again, that's just my opinion.

UK Shameless is more of a dark drama / black comedy. Haven't seen enough of the US version to compare. I haven't even seen the last couple of UK seasons either, but I can see how non-British viewers wouldn’t find it as funny.

actually, the U.S. version isn't really that funny.. it's just a wild story. i guess you could say frank is pretty funny (i do love william h. macy's portrayal), but it's more about the nitty gritty white trash lifestyle. while the storyline gets pretty wacky, there's something about shameless that feels real and organic.

I really liked Dexter, much better than I thought I would and yes, it's finished.

UK version isn't that funny as well; it's more of a dark drama than a comedy, but the humour elements come from the wacky / eccentric characters. I'd say 'nitty gritty white trash lifestyle' fits the UK version aptly as well, but people don't really use the term white trash over here. It is also very northern English, so I can understand if it doesn't translate well overseas.

Breaking bad was such a sick series, the last episode may very well be the best tv episode of all time.

I just recently started watching The Wire. It's pretty sick, recommended for sure.

now the one series that makes me laugh uncontrollably is eastbound and down. kenny fucking powers is ridiculously funny. it's stupid and over the top, but i don't give a shit. do brits enjoy eastbound and down, or is it too quintessentially american for you?

I tried to watch Prison Break from esp 1. I just can't get back into it, because I have seen season 1 many years ago.

I think I might just have to force myself to watch The Wire again. So many of you said it is good. There is a lot going on. Maybe that is why I didn't managed to get into it.

I like Person of Interest but it haven't finished yet. So waiting until it is finish. I might give Dexter a go later. I have seen up to season 2 before. Dexter is good. I hated watching films with lots of gore and blood. But after watching Dexter, I have overcome this fear.

I am thinking I might try watching Weed, but maybe after something else. Too much drugs.  :D

I found Weeds to be a bit silly and unexciting. It's like Desperate Housewives but with, erm, Weed.

same.. but marie louise parker kept me tuning in for 2 seasons. ultimate hot milf.. and kevin nealon was great. but in the end, the story got too wacky for my taste.

I haven't seen Eastbound and Down, but I've got the first two seasons downloaded. I'll give it a go sometime.


I agree. I watched the first two seasons and gave up as it was just to far-fetched to me. I always found it weird how Celia's eldest daughter just disappeared after a few episodes in the first season with no real explanation.

btw while i like ricky gervais, i think his style of comedy (and stephen merchant too) doesn't suit my tastes. it's a bit too tryhard.. although awkward humor can be good. i don't like "hello ladies" all that much. karl pilkington is probably the most entertaining of the 3.

The Office will always be the greatest sitcom of all time to me. Nothing comes close. Karl Pilkington is hilarious. Hello Ladies is shite. Merchant is nothing without Gervais.

Anyone like True Blood? I thought I wouldn't like it and was gonna be like crappy Twilight or something, but I was quite suprised. I'm on season 6 at the moment.

Thought the first couple of seasons were good, but it dropped off after with all the other supernatural beings and Vampire Bill going a bit evil.

Is the UK version of the office as good as the US?

Depends whether you're American or British or whether you prefer British or American comedy?

sometimes it just feels like the characters are just trying too hard to rouse laughter out of you. another show that reminds me of this is modern family. the jokes/gags are like devices. it doesn't feel like natural comedy, but that's just my taste.

Or wether you're a comedypleb or not. The British version is far superior. There's more laughs in one episode on UK office than there is in an entire season of the US version. The two versions are completely different sorts of humour. There's no subtlety with the American version, and the laughs are few and far between. They went for quantity not quality and stretched it out far too long.


I've not seen Modern Family, but it looks like typical American sitcom crap.

Anyone mention The Shield yet?

It's actually pretty good! The writing makes it for me. Much like Arrested Development, you pick up on new gags on the second viewing.

As for Dexter, I'd quit watching after 4 seasons; anything after that was awful overkill. The show's ending was god awful.

I'm not sure if it's been said but I've been enjoying "the walking dead".

modern family does not compare to AD. AD was much, much more clever in the way it lampooned everything.

the most recent "gag" that had my eyes rolling was when cam and mitchell were going to get married, and neither party knew who or how to propose.. when all of a sudden they get a flat tire and both guys are kneeling.

Luther, a british crime series, Very good acting (same actor played in the wire) and Hannibal are good suggestions if you are in to a little less raw action focussed criminal series. Still plenty of action and gore though. Banshee if you want to see explosions and tittees.

Luther is great, although the last season wasn't as good. I wish Alice was in it more.

Yeah, Alice is great. I heard she was a getting her own spin-off series and a Luther movie is also planned.

Spartacus is really good. I am not sure if it is the same rank as Dexter tho.

Hannibal season 2 will be nice to watch but we need to wait for it some time. Btw HEROES series was nice but discontinued waiting for The Walking Dead new season :)

Waiting for the Walking dead as well. It was kind of a dick move to announce a mid season finale, especially with the holidays approaching.

heroes was terrible after the first season. it kept on rehashing the same stupid storyline. i watch the walking dead, but it can get annoying at times.. still a decent show.

Homeland is really great. Don't think that's been posted yet. I would say one of my favorites, after Breaking Bad, Dexter and The Soprano's.

Ditto about Heroes. I stopped after the first half of the second season after realizing it wasn't going anywhere.

As for Walking Dead, I quit in the middle of season 3 since it seemed to be suffering from the same symptoms. After Frank Darabont was "fired" it didn't take long for the show to decrease its quality, in my opinion.

First season of Homeland is brilliant. Only seen a few episodes of the second season, but I'm interested to see where they take Brody's character.

Well, if you have not seen Sopranos, then watch that. Gripping and exciting. Maybe Oz would be interesting too.
The Wire is slower-paced but it is brilliantly written, very much a classic. If you have not seen Twin Peaks, then watch that. Different from these but the unique, dark atmosphere of the series is something special.

If you don't wanna go all mainstream, I found Harper's Island to be very refreshing. It's old-school and Agatha Christie's like, which is quite rare.

Also, the latest Sherlock series from the BBC is overall brilliant (even if some episodes are not as good as others).

I watched the first episode of Better Call Saul and it was boring to me, I don't know if it's just me or if it gets better.

Depending on your type, I think everyone will be different when he wants to watch a movie. I have watched breaking bad, good films and very inspiring for people who like to take illegal drugs.
