Title: ixcoin solving blocks at rate of 1.5 blks/hr??
Post by: smoothie on August 18, 2011, 10:43:44 AM
Holy shit! Wow with no feature yet implemented to readjust the difficulty every so often (time wise) You ixcoin miners are going to be waiting for difficulty readjustment(s) for a while.

And i0coin will go the same route. pump&dump, baby, pump&dump...

Agreed. But at least the difficulty readjusts every so often so that the network can keep things rolling.

Ixcoins has the same issue that namecoin has with difficulty hikes.

yeah but you do realise that I0coins were made in responce to the scammy nature of ixcoins, they werent designed to be a pump and dump just to expose teh absurdity of ixcoins.

Unlike ixcoins though, they did put in features missing from many other coins, like the diff adjustment, which will prevent i0coin from having teh same fate as namecoins with the difficulty hoping.

It may end up being a dead coin, but at least more thought went into it, than lets double the inflation rate and change nothign else and oh year lets pre mine 500k coins.. hahahahaha

you can build on the idea of i0coin, hopefully other coins will take some of the features.. looking at you namecoin. you cant build on the idea of ixcoin which was simply designed to make some certain elderly miner .. rich/.

Personally I'd like to see a new bitcoin fork, with all of i0coins features but half the inflation rate of bitcoin

Someone's crybaby response to "God dammit not fair that someone got all the earliest minted crypto coins AND IT WASN'T ME" would be my guess. :)

It's not "crybaby" to see how dangerous that is for a crypto currency.

But I guess you arent grown up to understand not only how sleezy and scammy that is, but how it actually could fuck up your investment.
Wake me up when you have a clue about investing.

Oh, yes. Clearly it's better for one person to have the huge supply, instead of several different people...

If I calculate it correctly, at the current speed the difficulty retargeting sould be in around 8 days, which is 16 days after the last retargeting,  This should lower the difficulty a little bit. The next retargeting should then by 80+ days later. For each day the current retargeting is delayed, Ixcoin wins some days on the next retargeting. So I have stopped my miners for now ;-)
