Title: How do you know if blockchain.info is under attack?
Post by: jimmypagey on December 21, 2013, 07:24:51 AM
Im about to import paper wallets from the vancouver bitcoin ATM onto another paper wallet made with bitaddress, before using blockchain to transfer them,  How can I check if the site could possibly be being hacked so I dont get my bitcoins stolen at the time? AND How many confirmations are usually needed for the confirmation of your bitcoin transaction? AND what are the fees? do they go higher for the more bitcoins you send or is it lower if you send more to one address? How long does it usually take?
Thanks, Merry Christmas!!

Under attack will be unable to access to blockchain.info
Hacked is another story why not use a local client to store your btc rather than use web wallet?

How can you see if it was being hacked?  ??? Im only using it to import a paper wallet from the bitcoin ATM in vancouver onto a bitaddress paper wallet I made, so I would need to use blockchain to quickly import it from one paper wallet to another. How can I make sure It's safe?

first make sure that SSL is on Green and its owned by blockchain , check that is Blockchain url and you should be safe
and i repeat myself maybe but use a bitcoin client that you can install on your computer

You know if blockchain.info is under attack when that's unavailable to access.

You can't really check if a site is being hacked, no hacker is going to paste "currently hacking" on the home page. They would do in stealth mode, and just steal all the coins.

If the site is down, its probably being DDOS'd

You can view some status information at http://blockchain-status.com/

But if you are worried about the site being hacked use the browser extension https://blockchain.info/wallet/chrome-extension
