Post by: rokshis on December 21, 2013, 10:39:48 PM
Hello, maybe anybody knows, if I'm from Europe and I want to order ASIC from China or USA, lets say the ASIC is worth 5k $, will I have to pay import charges? Please help me !

You're mostly likely going to have to pay VAT and Import duty. For my BFL Miners into the UK I paid about 8% + 20% VAT. It's a fking rip-off I must say.

Let's say you buy a 60GH BFL miner @ $2200, you'll most likely have to pay another $600 in customs charges, which might make it even more expensive than renting from cex.io (and they deliver instantly).

Or, you could fly out to the US and try to smuggle your gear back into your country :)

Look it up...the general name for the tax that governments charge when you receive things from outside your country is called duty. Lookup the duty charge for your country - you should be able to calculate it.

Duty is often based on the value of the goods, but some countries may also impose a duty for other reasons. Other countries might just charge sales tax.

Be aware that you might have to pay some other fees that are over and above duty charges - like a processing charge or something similar.
