Title: New to cryptocurrency mining.
Post by: nautfoxx on December 22, 2013, 04:34:51 AM
Hey so I have a gtx 660 and get around 130khash/s with the settings "--no-autotune -i 0 -C 2 -l K80x2" on cudaminer.
Is there any way to improve this number? I would also like to know how i am able to post outside the newbie area?

Thanks guys :)

Hi nautfoxx. Sorry I am not too familiar with NVIDIA GPU's or cudaminer, but I have heard they are known to not hash at the rates AMD cards do.
As far as being able to post outside the newbie area, you have to post 5 times basically in this section and have a total logged in time of 4 hrs.

nautfoxx you are no doubt equipped with far more knowledge then me like I really don’t understand what is gtx600, 130Kash/s or all those settings. Kindly explain them so infants like me can understand all these terms. Or at least provide links to a reliable site so we may even attain knowledge about these crypto-currencies.

Apologies i got caught up with mining and haven't returned for quite some time it is also ridiculously frustrating to post on these boards because every time i post something regardless of when i was last on the site it says my IP has posted and has to wait 360 seconds to post again... I will most likely just stick to my pool chat as i am not restricted in this broken way.

As for my card i managed to get it up to 190khashs with some setting adjustments and the latest cudaminer + nvidia drivers. Also I now mine with my cpu which gets around 40khashes (i5 3750k).
Making about 1000 - 2000 coins a day if i'm lucky. Trying to look at overclocking the card now. Oh and I mine dogecoin. I guess i should have pointed that out :)
