Title: Will Blizzard blockchain?
Post by: krypkeepr on May 15, 2018, 08:31:22 AM
I'm curious to know if it would be in Blizzard's best interest to blockchain their network (or any existing game for that matter). I can imagine items being bought and sold, even cross game swapping (Ex: OW skin for Hearthstone card).

There is this article that I read a while back about how Blizzard opened a fiat-for-WoW-gold system. It seems to suggest that Blizzard is too concerned about the volatility of crypto (as well as uninformed at the time?), thus a closed market.

But what if there were two coins, one tied to the crypto market, and another usable ingame. The value of the crypto coin naturally fluctuates, so the amount required to exchange to the ingame coin likewise shifts. This offers the benefit of crypto while retaining the stability of a closed market, right?
