Since the advent of bitcoin in 2009 led to cryptocurenccy experts competing to make another new coin like bitcoin, this is ALTCoin, where ALTCoin moves at the rate of bitcoin, most people use ALTCoin as the fastest way to collect bitcoin , because the rate or rate is often very promising against bitcoin, began the emergence of many ALTCoin make some coin is just a boom but also many investors and the various types.
What is the effect of increasing the amount of altcoin on bitcoin?

Well many big Bitcoiners buy and trade cryptos so that they can increase their Bitcoin bottom line. Some people want to be Bitcoin rich and some people want to be dollar rich. So you need to see what you want to do and then decide on how to play the cryptos to your advantage. For me I like both Bitcoin and Altcoins as they give us people much more freedom than what traditional financial markets do.

In todays cryptocurrency world everything relies on the bitcoin market and you can observe that when bitcoins value fell down everything fell down and when its up every crypto market becomes green. But with regards to altcoin, the more people altcoins comes in to the coinmarket the more the price of bitcoin goes up since before you can buy any altcoins you will need to have bitcoins.

Bitcoin remains the leader of all alcoin. Bitcoin is the measure for all altcoin because you compare alltcoin with their strength on bitcoin. Bitcoin influence the altcoins both in price and market movement. So altcoin can not influence the value of bitcoin because they all depend on Bitcoin.

According to me With the altcoin in the world cryptocurrency is very much role for bitcoin.Yang because of the influence of altcoin very much so great to bitcoin that can boost the price of bitcoin itself. Altcoin growth and development in recent times experienced a very significant increase and increase.This also affect the investors to compete to invest in projects on the altcoin.

Now Bitcoin's reputation on the whole world is included. Bitcoin has become a big place for midea and bitcoin. bitcoin above all cryptocurrency. All other currencies depends on bitcoin. If the price of bitcoin increases, other currency increases and prices rise. Bitcoin prices fall and other currencies decrease.

Yes, it is true that there is now an enormous increase in the number of altcoins, and I think it is very good for bitcoin by purchasing altcoins through bitcoin in advance so they can affect the rise in bitcoin prices.

These moments are very sharp and plentiful, but also a lot of coins are scammed and that can ruin the good name of bitcoin, and I think there is an altcoin emerging very good today for bitcoin in the future with crypto exchange.

I think most altcoin is just a hype.
So I just believe in bitcoin, and I don't believe in the tokens of these scams.

sometimes bitcoin itself requires a support one of them is altcoin, where the coin is very volatile in its development, people do not hesitate to invest into altcoin karna fantastic.

2 effects in my opinion:
1. the reputation damage.
which means when all these useless altcoins and all these scam ICOs are being created and being advertised with bitcoin's name mentioned or sometimes being advertised during bitcoin conferences,.... they damage the entire crypto space and damage bitcoin a little too. the whole market sometimes looks like a scam thanks to all these shitcoins.

2. damage the price.
majority of these shitcoins are only traded against bitcoin. there is no fiat market for them. so when they are getting dumped hard people have to panic sell and these days their big dumps are always initiated with bitcoin price drop. this means these panic sellers have some shitcoin but want fiat, their only option is to dump the shitcoin for bitcoin then sell bitcoin too. that means bitcoin price can technically go lower than usual thanks to these shticoins.

Yes that is very right to say, i also think that bitcoin has a very positive impact on bitcoin, the increase in number of  altcoin can also incrase the interest of the people in crytpo currencies, but still it is also a fact that bitcoin is the topmost currency of the world and will even remain as number one for a long long time. no other currency can compact with bitcoin.

In one way or another, bitcoin and altcoins are affecting each other's price
Remember that (most of the time) when you have to buy an alt coin, you have to buy bitcoin first

I think it does not impact too much with the growing amount of altcoin every day, because it is the altcoin that depends on market conditions bitcoin. unless the bitcoin price is stable.
because despite the current number of altcoins, not all projects are running as they expected

Increasing the amount of altcoin can have a bad effect on bitcoin when there are now a lot of junk coins in circulation and indirectly damaging people's confidence in bitcoin, obviously it can also damage prices.

In exchanges you buy altcoin with bitcoin so it means that you have to use bitcoin as the main currency to purchase every altcoin and that makes the volume of bitcoin higher. But there can be some disadvantage of the quick increase number of altcoins.

If Bitcoin would be perfect in all thinkable use cases, there would not be much space for alts.

Most alts do their job as an open experimental workbench for Bitcoin itself. So I expect that in time these ideas will be either dropped because the use case is not sustainable or it will be merged into Bitcoin.

The pressure to do these is high since barrier free effects and scarcity , global network effects , KISS and more work as a fix point attractor for a single currency. (Example is Facebook)


Trading inter-crypto is a thing, but its a net zero sum game and tends to less money on most parties. It works only to attract these restricted / limited amount of ppl who seek for risk taking opportunity.

Alternative currencies have effect of bitcoins price. Bitcoins price increase or decrease is related to how altcoins behave, the more people are into altcoins their bitcoins are converted to altcoins, this,in effect bring the price of bitcoin down. The same way to when more people are into bitcoins, interest in altcoins decreases.

The easiest way to get big income from crypto currencies is to own an altcoin when it's in the dip and that's why each day we see a new  altcoin is being published either by ICO or by some entrepreneurs. Buying and selling altcoins (day trading) volume, income and increase marketcap...

Well, the other coins have grown over the years in terms of volume and market cap and this is the time when we should stop calling it altcoins. Every coin has its own philosophy and that's how it works. Bitcoin came up with the solution to the issue of the slower dependent transaction process, ETH came up with the smart contract feature to facilitate digital agreements and I don't think any other coin can affect the Bitcoin and vice versa.

This is not to say that altcoin investment is bad. Each investor needs to evaluate their own risk vs. reward ratio and decide whether that’s a good fit for their goals. What is clear is that altcoins are actually not a great hedge against Bitcoin.

Their are so many ICO are coming and to invest in them the users have to purchase ETH or BTC to invest it so this way the bitcoin and other big altcoin price are traded and when this coin are getting listed they are traded against the bitcoin or eth. So I think altcoin is having effect on bitcoin. As more trading and investing in altcoin will make users to buy more bitcoin which will boost the price of bitcoin.

Ico's have their own coins or tokens which means you do not necesisarily need to purchase btc or eth in order to invest or participate on them. You just need to directly purchase the coin via usd or any other payment method such as credit/debit cards , paypal , payza , etc. Thats why i dont think that alts have an effect to the value of btc.

Bitcoin maybe have an effect on altcoin because whenever the btc price fluctuates , the value of altcoin usually follows its movement.

Most altcoins have no impact on Bitcoin because they don't provide anything new. There are many altcoins which introduced something new, but the technology was not implemented in Bitcoin and it didn't succeed. Why? Because Bitcoin which is the most popular cryptocurrency needs to be stable. We can't afford any critical bugs in the code because it would discourage investors and people from using something that was supposed to replace fiat and online banking. Governments and banksters would be delighted if that happened.

Apparently what is happening right now is a lot of people are dumping there alt coins in order to buy BTC and be there when the hard fork happens and gain some of that Bitcoin Gold. If this is so, after the hard fork BTC should see a slump in price and people will probably start investing in the different alt coins.

Steem is the one I see that is having the most ups and downs, but always within the same range, better said it is practically stagnant, if a lot of people are powering down I am afraid we will see Steem go down in price for a good while, or at best stay at where it is right now.

The advantages with many altcoin in market is we have different choice to invest on cryptomarket. Many altcoin is utility token and many like bitcoin as cryptocurrency. Some altcoin have working product and some fail with their project. The most important think before we investing our money in altcoin is we doing some research to minimizing our risk

my opinion the effect on bitcoin is absent, even altcoin which depends on the bitcoin value. because bitcoin is a large community, so bitcoin greatly affects altcoin in both price and market movements. and vice versa altcoin can not affect bitcoin in both price and market movements.

Due to increasing demand of alt coins the popularity of bitcoins is decreasing. Now the market cap is being shared .

I think though altcoin looks very nice, but it's still hard to manipulate bitcoin in the market and when investing despite the crypto exchange. we need to eradicate coin other coin manipulations like bitcoin so we as bitcoin users should be more careful so we will not be fooled by other coins.

Yes that is very right to say that altcoins are bad, there are a lot of altcoins which have very good potential and in future we can expect that they will have very good future, therefore i think that we should try to invest some money in altcoin. Which can in fact give us a very good profit.

Altcoins effect of bitcoins is seen in the behaviour of bitcoin price direction. The more people get into altcoins and ICOs, the more money is shift from bitcoins into these areas. This effect is a reason that bitcoin cant go further in price increase.

How good is the price of any altcoin compared to bitcoin? I think you need to elaborate on this. it usually is the other way around meaning bitcoin is affecting altcoins and not the reverse although it may exist on a smaller scale. the effects are usually in a way that whenever bitcoin is dropping altcoins drop too. but that is only the price, as for technology altcoins have been mostly copying bitcoin and not really innovating much.

to me the only use of an alt coin is to get more bitcoin. Most of the alts coins out there are just pure garbage. Some are completely dead, some were just fraudlent to begin with and some will just not be able to do what they say. In this bitcoin is the only coin u should ideally hold over a long term.

for me altcoin has no effect on bitcoin on any aspect because I think bitcoin is the parent of all coin coins popping up nowadays.

As i seen and noticed on the market, when bitcoin rises and so does the other coin or alternative coins,  i guess altcoins ( not preferring to all but like 60%) most of them are dependent on bitcoins value like ethereum , ripple and dogecoin. But if you properly see the fiat currency trading in altcoins then their is more fluctuations in fiat trading in altcoins then in bitcoins. So now i think users are now mostly trading in fiat currency in altcoins. So i think bitcoin affect is getting less as now cryptocurrency are even traded through fiat currency.

I don't think there are so much effect on the increase of amount of altcoins to bitcoin since not all altcoins becomes successful and whether they become successful or not they may go to the flow of bitcoin but would not be able to compete much since bitcoin is still the best in terms of profitability.

Altcoins can be a good and a bad thing for BTC. For me there are two kinds of effect
1: advantage - the more the merrier. More advantage to choose good coins that have potential in the future.

In my entire duration since I entered bitcoin I observed that altcoins depends on bitcoin when it comes to price. But I collect my bitcoin through collecting altcoins from different bounty campaign. It has good effect to bitcoin since many of us invest first in altcoins and eventually invested in bitcoin. If the altcoin has the potential then the price will increase together with bitcoin.

I am no hater of alts but I think one of the effects is that people have a lot to choose from. And when there are a lot to choose from, the investment which should be focused on a single coins could be divided into pieces. But on the benefits is synonymous to its disadvantages. Since there are several alts, it leverages the whole crypto world and provide advertisement not only to the alt but to the bitcoin too. I think that those who have invest in alts is also an investor in bitcoin. But there are people who invest in bitcoin that is not an investor of alts. The opposite is happening too much. But I do not know very much that Altcoin can affect Bitcoin price. Maybe there are only a few coins that we can say so powerful, but it is far from affecting Bitcoin in them.

I think the altcoin may have not more affect rather than bitcoin to alt coins because bitcoin is king and other altcoin are following the price of bitcoin, when bitcoin goes up or down unexpectedly the whole market will seeing red that is why I think bitcoin is affecting the all other altcoins,

The effect of altcoins to bitcoin is pumping the value and popularity of bitcoin. While new coins come into this crypto world first they should base the value of their coin with the value of bitcoin. Commonly bitcoin will be more well know by the team and by the new investors with it. I think the effect of altcoins to bitcoin is more about advantages. I can't see any disadvantages for that. It will be good for bitcoin to have another new coin that enter to it's reign in crypto.

To my understanding, the emergence of some highly competitive and promising altcoins has actually pile up pressure on bitcoin for improvement. Altcoins like Ethereum, Ripple, Neo and so on are actually grabbing bitcoin behind with their mode of blockchain technology which is highly acceptable to people.
It is the belief of some that before these promising alts will reach the year bitcoin is now, they have probably overtake bitcoin.

Honestly, they put the cryptocurrency in a bad reputation, what I mean are the scam coins, so people many loss their investment to these scam ICO but with legit altcoin, they give bitcoin a good support in the market, but with so many coins in the market it becomes confusing to newbies.

for me the emergence of altcoin may have indeed resulted to a lot of factors concerning bitcoin.
there may be instances that this have cause negative effect to bitcoin.
but for me overall it has created a more positive effect since they have been the also a factor in promoting cryptocurrency.

For me bitcoin is never affected to the blooming numbers of altcoins in the market, in fact altcoins really rely on bitcoin because if bitcoin price drop altcoins also drop, investors and traders are collecting bitcoin by trading altcoins and convert into bitcoin.

talking about altcoin and bitcoin is very interesting. varied and constantly changing values at all times indicates that both play a role in crypto. My experience, if the bitcoin value rises a lot of altcoin whose value falls. however, if the bitcoin is falling in value, the altcoin value rises significantly.

I think with the advent of altcoin can make bitcoin more popular and Altcoin affects the bitcoin price though not so great.
