Facebook have attempted to create facebook money before but it ended up as a failure and using the same idea but in the form of a digital money powered up by blockchain technology; facebook once again is thinking to create a cryptocurrency to suit their purposes but one thing is clear and that it will take a very long time before they can realize their idea and at the same time there will be no ICO for that crypto.

Didn't bother to read the rest of it since it isn't in english. But personal thoughts on this, if facebook did and made a coin. Making their own cryptocurrency to be used on fb app itself wouldn't really be a good idea. They introduced FB as a free app, steadily genersting income on ads and other stuffs, but adding a virtual currency would make it look like a there-for-money app which i think, people wouldn't patronize.

i think its a good news, consider facebook ever got security breach for they members account. i hope with blockchain technology they can have more high securuty level. but it not wise if they use this for make facebook become not free, and people who that want to create new account have to pay with they coin.

Because facebook has banned the advertising of ICO, they do not need to raise money through ICO.

May be it will sell in the market but the matter is that how many people can buy it. Most famous coins are sold out within a minuets or some seconds. So we have to be alart to buy it. Zuckerberg really wants to experiment with decentralized systems.

For me, I think that the Facebook coins will selling in the market because the users of Facebook are bigger than other currencies. So I think if the Facebook makes its own coin, the market will sell it because of the demand of Facebook users. The market is very wise so if they sell the Facebook coins I think they can earn more.

Maybe if facebook really wants to join in and make their own coins, that would be good. We all know that facebook has a lot of followers and users, so  I think that their coins will sell and be in demand if ever. Well, if they do it, that would help the bitcoin world become more known to everyone.

I don't think a centralized crypto will have so much of attention,they just can get more ads about their currency in their platform since they have stopped promoting others but I don't know whether they have ICO or not.

if facebook had attempted to create a virtual money and have failed, what makes them sure they will succeed today? even if they use blockchain of their own as long as they keep the data of a user, i will always use my fake account in facebook. but i may trade with it so long as it gets listed on big exchanges.

Bitcoins and other cryptos worked cause they were decentralised and not centralised that's the key for their success otherwise what's the point of having one more centralised coin. I wouldn't opt for a coin that is centralised and already had the technology to scop on me, first my facebook data now my finances hell no I'll stay away from this shit.

So this is just another PayPal <centralized crypto currency> for Facebook users. There is no doubt that this will be successful, because most people trust big corporations like this. The only people who might not use this, would be people who understand the problems with centralized authority and how currencies like this would be controlled by centralized authorities. <Most people do not have a problem with that, if you look at the user base of technologies like PayPal.>

besides who cares about Facebook and what they are doing. they are the most centralized company that you can think of and all the information that goes into them will also go to 3 letter agencies in US. nobody will be interested in using the coin that they create.

I think that Facebook should create its own cryptocurrency. Facebook is a social network with a huge audience. It would be very good if you could make the payment inside the network using cryptocurrency. It would add Facebook popularity and interest new users.

I do not really know how the development of the coin but in my opinion it is certain Mark Zuckerberg has the concept to put his coin on the exchange and hopefully it could trigger price movements of some other digital currencies.

i am hearing about their facebook money from ages lol. lome times it feels like they are banning crypto ads in facebook, just because of they are not confident enough about their version of curency which they are willing to make.

Maybe they just want to sponsore their own ads of their coins,I mean that's make sense because facebook is a company also,  they wanna make a really good and big profit for their own bussines even they know that promoting another ads also has good profit. That's a great news! Facebook is used by millions of people everyday. Through Facebook, Bitcoin will get exposure and popularity and more people will be interested to invest in this field.

Facebook's a juggernaut whether we like it or trust it I think just like their stock, that their own coin would have value and be traded.
However, for someone security and privacy conscious like us would we ever buy or trade with it?  The answer would be no and I think many would agree.
If we can't trust Facebook with basic privacy and security, they can't be trusted to handle our finances.

It's also important to remember that many companies have tried to knockoff PayPal with their own payment system and essentially all of them have failed.

Is this fake news? lol! I have read news in cnbc or forbes (can't recall) about facebook exploring the blockchain technology to help it run its services. But I didn't read about creating their own coins or token. As far as I remember, facebook have created a small team to focus on research on how this new blockchain technology will make their company advantageous among other advertisers. The news even tell that facebook will not offer an ICO, and the result could be realize next year. Sometime when a message is passed on to another, there could be a little unintentional editing happen.  

What the Facebook cryptocurrency aims to do, is to allow users to make transactions between each other within the platform, so if you have something to sell or want to buy something you could easily do it through Facebook, i personally would not use it because it will allow room for scammer and people who would up the price of the products, this would only seem good for digital products only,

Business is a business. Facebook is one of the main reason of some ICO's success. It gives way to reach the peak through promoting in Facebook without any payment. Facebook is a great help to ICO's that succeed already and possible the project that will plan to enter crypto. This new prospect of project think about Facebook as one of the target to advertise their ideas. For the dev of Facebook much better to put something new in order to earn more profit through their works in social media by promotion. Facebook own coin is possible in the future. I did not see any harmful but mostly harmless.

I don't think FB will ever be anti-bitcoin. IMO, they're going to make an impact on cryptocurrency in one way or another.

If Facebook does launch a coin, it would probably have the highest circulation of any virtual currency, with a potential market of over two billion users.Facebook has toyed with virtual currencies before, with features like Facebook Credits, which was used  for in-app purchases in games like Farmville. However, the currency never took off and was eventually abandoned.

Knowing the market of Facebook- which is worldwide-, its developed coin will also be a globally accepted and successful one. Facebook is alsoone of the multi-billion company and it has the avbility to sustain its coin, if ever,. It has also a great team and reputable company.

If this will push through, I believe facebook coin will be a huge success. If we try to look at the market size of facebook, advertisers and even those users, it has really a very large community. If this happens, adverstisers will have to purchase facebook coin as a payment and even users have to do it to purchase some products in facebook. I will certainly invest in that coin if that will really push through.

You have a point but I don't think that they will run an ICO because facebook is known to public and had a big popularity across the world so maybe large companies or rich person's will fund these ideas because they know that there will be a good profit from it.

yes that what I'm saying also which is it's a big help to promote other crypto in the market even bitcoin it's a big help also to acknowledge that bitcoin isn't a ponzi 'cause we all knows  that most people nowadays think that bitcoin is a scam because of some scammer people on facebook that promote bitcoin in a bad ways which is the common reason why some of people declined to invest on it. Yes I also think Facebook is not against bitcoin. They banned crypto related ads to start with a fresh plan. I think Facebook will bring their own coin and it might be imposed the system of payment over facebook. And I hope they will sure start selling their coin in exchanges.

It will be interesting to see what happens. Mark Zuckerberg put Mr Marcus one of his senior executives in charge of experimenting with the blockchain for Facebook. Marcus used to be President of Paypal and sits on the board at Coinbase. Facebook is saying they think by creating their own cryptocurrency they will be able to manage transactions better within; therefore being able to protect privacy better and give users a new way to protect their data. I think its to early to say whether or not the coin will go to market.I do think its a step in the right direction for Facebook though.

If mark did that coin.. It will help people using facebook known about crypto.. And that coin is known by billion people.. I think they don't ban some of crypto currencies ads.. I think mark ban the ads from the scammers but it is so difficult to do.. Because i've seen some of ico ads on facebook.. I think mark is on crypto side.. Because crypto is not fully banned.

If this is true then for sure this coin will earn more investments because Facebook is very popular now that investors will not going to afraid to pour their money on this project because Facebook is a legit project, Mark Zuckerberg is a legit person and Facebook is feasible to the masses thefore it will be a huge success. I like to read the article but google is not translating the page. Facebook is a giant company and I am pretty sure if this is true people will line up to get their coin regardless of the purpose. Facebook money is a flop but an actual currency that can be buy and sell will surely invest in. For me this is an opportunity to invest in Facebook, I was  not given an opportunity to buy facebook stocks when it was cheap so this is the second best thing.

I thought we are no longer believing the Facebook itself. The Facebook is trying to catch the market with new strategies and looking after the grown users who are crypto based they might have taken such decision to create their own currency.

But I am pretty sure that they will come to an end with failure because people mostly who are engaged with Facebook are real people with just photos sharing attitude and whose got how many likes kind of attitude!

Im sure they wont even see it as beneficial for themselves. Facebook should also keep their path as clean as heaven otherwise users may go away from it.

Bitcoin is developed now as it is, I don't see any problems about the site of Facebook nowadays and if you are talking about their digital currency, it is a long news from now and it is been circulating the internet even last year, we are talking about the news about the currency but not the currency itself. With a lot of users of Facebook, I think it will be popular to them since you can just send your money through Facebook.

That doesn't stop them from creating their own coins, we all need to understand the reason facebook ban crypto ads is just to protect his users from scam and misleading project ,when there is regulation and all ico are screened properly by SEC, am certain they will accept the ads again...

As far as I know, facebook does not ban ads about crypto currency. The evidence, I can still follow the social media campaign (facebook) to promote certain crypto currency token. If facebook prohibits advertising crypto currency then it brings losses to facebook itself. You can imagine how many people are involved in crypto currency. They certainly use facebook as well as a campaign media for bounty campaign. If facebook ban it then facebook will lose millions of users. Even now, facebook is still open with crypto currency. For facebook that will create a new crypto currency, I think that it's a great breakthrough. An innovative renewable technology, hopefully facebook coins can compete with other crypto currency.

Though it not worthy enough for facebook to issue its own coin since facebook itself is issue free and generating fund through ads and but if facebook now issue its own coin it will serve of another means of gaining popularity for bitcoin cos more and more people will be ready to venture into bitcoin.

In fact, this was all quite expected, even unexpectedly why other corporations are slow with the introduction of their tokens. I will give a very simple example. The same Google - it could easily introduce its own token, and introduce it into the community almost forcibly, introducing as mandatory for payment of its services, payment for applications and so on. Facebook has the opportunity to make a truly creative social token. I had no doubt they would. Who wouldn't want a permanent record of everyone's preferences stored forever on the blockchain and even have to host your own servers? Yes of course the target could be those crypto ads that will use their token coins to avail the ads for facebook. We all know that facebook has given us the chance on their application for free but some are not. So to those areas that are not freely shared and given by facebook they could use tokens as to avail the service needed like what i had mention earlier on posting ads ex. is crypto ads and i know that there could be more than that.

I am sure that it will be something like a Facebook credit system that we had earlier. However, Facebook will definitely use blockchain this time. We might be able to use Facebook coin not only for buying services from Facebook but also to exchange money with our Facebook friends. However, even in that case, it won't be a decentralized payment system because Facebook will never share the control with the users.

I doubt that the if the facebook create an owned cryptocurrency it will sell in market. there's are chance but the priority of this coin is in bout the facebook. it can be used as the crefit card for the facebook. and also, maybe the uses will be different in the coin in the cryptocurrency. but I think it would be popular.

It's just a speculative news, nothing more. The truth is Facebook just assigned someone as director of a blockchain department. It doesn't mean at any cost Facebook will create it own coin. And with the latest scandal with Cambridge Analytica I doubt a lot of people will trust their own crypto

Do you guys trust Zuckerberg enough to add FBcoin to your portfolio? ::) I’m a bit sceptical about it, mainly due to my safety concerns. But no doubt, FB cryptocurrency will get popular among FB users. Hope their wallets will be not so easy to steal as their FB accounts, haha

in my opinion before zuckerberg should launch that coin, study the security of facebook account, nowadays, accounts can be easily hacked.
