Also genuinely interested to see what the new kids on the block are keen to buy into.

Give it a vote! I've set it up so you have to vote before you can view the results. I've pulled the top 15 currencies off coinmarketcap to fill the options, if there are multiple requests for another coin to be added then I'll throw it into the fray! (I can do that right?)

I realise these polls usually turn into pick whichever coin you hold the most of but regardless it should be interesting, though lets try avoid long promotional posts telling us why your coin is the absolute shizzle.

I'd say Litecoin, given it is the most popular. In theory it should be nearer 1/4th the value of BTC as time goes on, so it has plenty of room for growth. Although it is basically a carbon-copy of BTC so its value is going to be tied to big brother, proportionately. Let's hope it's a good year for both.

Another interesting get for speculators is Dogecoin. If the joke doesn't get old, someone could put in a relatively low amount of FIAT and see it grow 2-3 times in a very short period. I wouldn't gamble with house money on that one though.

I'm mining Doge currently, certainly interesting - dubbed the first 'memecoin' no one really knows what's going to happen with it! I totally agree though I'm not putting my hard cash down on it...

Bitcoin > Worldcoin > Litecoin. All the others will be meaningless and gone by 2015.

Oddly enough.. I voted for Dogecoin.

I just think it's going to be a home run success. Especially, since the Chinese are about to start buying it. I know... I know.. it IS a stupid meme coin BUT damn it has to have the most passionate community behind it by far! And guess what this game is all about? Social media p2p marketing.

As cliche as it sounds, I think the passion of the community, combined with the addictive nature of the meme's growing culture/story - in addition to the market cap of 100 billion (which I think is a huge advantage)... will give Doge a considerable advantage in this crazy ass race.

I voted LTC because:
A) first scrypt dedicated mining solutions should arrive to the market
B) mt.gox will eventually add it
C) it's far behind its 0.25 LTC/BTC ideal ratio

WDC can grow much more (trend is actually down after announcement)

2014 will be the year of BTC, so I'd say Bitcoin. I'm also hoping to see Feathercoin rise. If it goes back to its high of $1+, I'll be happy, but I'm thinking it'll go even higher at some point.

The only 2 alts (bar LTC and PPC) worth investing in.

For me, Dimecoin is the most interesting cryptocurrency at the moment. I believe it has potential to grow since it has very fast transactions and new members are joining to the Dimecoin community all the time. 2014 will be interesting and you never know what the future will bring along. I'd recommend to keep your eyes open and don't miss the train!

Peercoin and Litecoin as they are both confirmed to be added to Mt. Gox and are both still cheap. Once Gox adds them, Coinbase has said they will follow. No idea what Bitstamp will do but the point is we'll be seeing these alt coins hit the big time for the first time.

The best potential for growth. LTC is expensive compared with WorldCoin - WDC might actually beat even BitCOin because it has confirmation time only 1 minute (BTC one hour - in Cryptsy even more, hahahaha)

Can't go wrong with BTC and LTC (chose LTC on the poll).
Dogecoin has this huge community backing it. For what was supposed to be a joke, it has become an actual presence in the market. Price will probably rise a bit in the near future.
PPC, WDC, PTS, and MEC look to be well off.
Alternatively, you can look into the coins that are making innovations and are doing something different (MMC, DTC, NMC, NXT, ...).

But honestly, who knows where any of this will go? Guess that's the fun in speculation ;)

Datacoin is one of those that will have steady increase throughout 2014. Not pump and dump style. Serious value increase.

Earthcoin - even if not on the list it is the future of crypto currency. The next BIG thing!

Currently lots of people are asking where to buy Earthcoin and once it enter trading exchange sites it would be on the top 10 list on coin market cap for sure. ;)

I love the fact that DogeCoin has such a strong love/hate effect in the cryptocoin community, you just can't be indifferent to this coin :D

In order of highest increase:
1. Litecoin
2. Peercoin
3. Namecoin
4. Bitcoin
5. Worldcoin

Litecoin will shoot up along with PPC and NMC.

I would have picked EarthCoin but it isn't on the list and isn't on an exchange yet.  The network hash on it is amazing for how new it is.  I could see it potentially becoming the 4th highest market cap by the end of the year.  There seems to be a strong team behind it with marketing experience and lets be honest, if cryptos ever become somewhat mainstream, the ones that become mainstays will have to speak to everyone.  The branding for this coin is very clever and is even better than WorldCoin's name.

But behind EarthCoin, I think WorldCoin will have a strong year and LiteCoin will atleast double where it is now and probably hit at least $50 at some point in 2014.

I do find the whole dogecoin situation amusing and it is good that it has brought new people onto the crypto scene.  However, I dont think a meme coin can survive as a true mainstream coin if we ever get to that point because it would be hard to take it seriously.

But then, most people are in it for the fun of it or short term profits so they dont really care about the long term prospects.

In order of importance,  regular Joe's adoption and valued base in support.
