That's pretty much how PoS works. Early adopters invested some of their btcs with a high risk. There is nothing inherently wrong with all the "other" coins besides Bitcoin, but Bitcoin has the HUGE advantage of being first to the market that became mainstream. Until Bitcoin goes goes more mainstream these other currencies have no chance. But as we've seen in the past, first to the market isn't always good!
