Title: China Volume > USA Volume? Post by: R2Pleasent on December 26, 2013, 09:47:46 PM I am looking at the 24h volumes on http://btckan.com/price. Currently, the top three Chinese exchanges are:
- Huobi (116K BTC volume) - ChBTC (32.5K BTC volume) - FXBTC (25.1K BTC volume) Total: 173.6K volume in past 24 hours Now, let's compare to the top three USD exchanges: - Bitstamp (25.1K volume) - BTC-e (24.9K volume) - Mt. Gox (21.7K volume) Total: 71.7K volume in past 24 hours Based on these values, there is nearly 2.5x more volume on Chinese exchanges in past 24 hours than USD exchanges. Are these numbers correct? Title: Re: China Volume > USA Volume? Post by: N12 on December 27, 2013, 12:02:17 AM We have no idea, really. Just keep this in mind: http://www.coindesk.com/chinese-bitcoin-exchange-okcoin-accused-faking-trading-data/
If the order book figures here (http://bitcoinity.org/markets/huobi/CNY) are correct, their volumes don't seem plausible to me. edit: Actually, that order book is just a small snapshot, so it's no evidence of faking. It's inevitable that it will become so sophisticated eventually that we won't be able to detect it anyway. Title: Re: China Volume > USA Volume? I believe Huobi has transaction fees. Title: Re: China Volume > USA Volume? I believe Huobi has transaction fees. Nope they don't. Noticed how BTCChina volume dropped like a rock richt after they introduced fees? Yeah. I don't trust chinese data for one moment. The only thing I trust is that suckers follow China 1:1. Good money. |
