I already invested around 15k into Quark coin, and it's made me 1.5X my $$. In 2 days now.
I wanted to know which coin was the best to invest in, and WHY?

If you have a particular favorite, please list it here and also the main reasons why you think it's so good and different.

If you are a good player try in 5-7 altcoins so you could make 2X or more everyday.
Alt coins are good for short term playing.

Quark is worth holding. Besides, I would go for PTS, since it will be converted to BTS very soon and BTS is an quite innovative crypto asset backed by a productive community. In the long term, stay away from doge. It's a fun but hyped coin, and I believe it will crash after people lose interests. But short-term speculation is fine.

Diamond - DMD because of top notch technology. NovaCoin the same. But DMD receive more more love from the community
LTC for short term
Quark has a flawed design. That's why you need to be careful to hold it. Its price can be dropped very fast.

Buy some dirt cheap LottoCoin (LOT) at coinedup.com before they get listet at Cryptsy (already approved by Vern).
But as said: it's better to spread the investment

Score new coins on the forum, then make 3x to 150x when they get to an exchange. Hitting one big win makes up for a lot of losers. Good examples are DOGE and APC -> I saw 100k APC sell for 0.20 BTC (or similar), now it's 146x that (29 BTC). BTW, I have some coins for sale. :)

Catcoin seems expensive, but it should go up.

Lotto was 72 satoshi when it hit CoinedUp, now 19, could be a deal.

Invest in something you can buy allot of for example Doge that way with a slight price fluctuation you can make allot of money just on quantity.

Take a look at what the coin has done in the past week then watch it for a day to see whether its increasing of decreasing buy on the low sell on the high

I would say MasterCoin. I know its expensive and hard to get them but they price will multiple within few months. Do your research and bet your liquid money

If you have that much then why not buy some basic computers and high powered graphics cards and mine all the new coins?

If you only want to spend the money then I would spread it out over several coins. It's good not to put all your eggs in one basket. Who knows who will make it. The only coin I can see doing ok in a few years from now would be Peercoin. There are many other coins that look good, but who know if they will be one of the alt coin winners in the current war.

IMO, Mastercoin, or any coin for that matter, that is priced over $25, is NOT  a good coin for my needs. Mastercoin would have to go up from $150 to $1500 for me to make 10 times my investment. Quark only has to go to $2.00.

I'm looking for something similar. I do not expect Bitcoin to go up 10 times in the next 6 months. Neither will Mastercoin or Litecoin.

Buy megacoin... once these asic miners for script hit the market.  The alt coin wars will begin.

Many shitcoins will die with huge fluctuations in difficulty and kimoto's gravity well will protect megacoin from attacks.

Anon coin has also adopted this feature.

Long term I believe megacoin will perform the best.

Florincoin... and no I will not tell you why because......you wouldn't believe it either way...

Stablecoin, SBC for the sole reason that it is going to increase at least 3x from it present price. It is a short term winner.

I second Megacoin! It is one of the most professionally backed coins, and on its way back up further than it was before!

Buy the dips  - hold long term 5K - speculate 5K .

Nxt. It's the only one really innovative. But I'd invest the majority in BTC.

I keep hearing negative info about Nxt, even though it's escalating in price.
I own BTC. I bought a bunch at $13 and now have some left, but not too many.
Since they are valued high right now, and all cryptos climb when BTC climbs, I figured on diversifying a little.
Especially into some that are very promising and some that are very speculative.

The past week I have been buying up IXCoin as well. its so cheap and more people are getting exposed to it from merge mining providers like cex.io/ghash.io Ive been lurking on a few other crypto forums and there is alot of noise starting to accumulate about this alt coin. IXCoin is second to Namecoin in age, or better stated its one of the oldest coin to be based off the BTC code set.funny that i come across this thread to see IXCoin mentioned.

I would buy a lot of WDC (Worldcoins) they dropped and are cheap to buy at the moment, some LTC and BTC (just in case). Also I would spread some little money to some cheap Sexcoins, Zetacoins and maybe Noirebits. So if one of them goes up you earned a lot and if not you will loose nearly nothing.  ;)

It would be useful if people posted their reasons for backing certain coins instead of just spewing a list of the ones they like. Tell us why you like them.

I like Worldcoin at the moment. If everything goes to plan they'll shoot up in value when Scharmbeck goes public in February, and the general angle of trying to be appealing to merchants seems like a winner to me. Most altcoins currently suffer from the fact that you can't do anything with them besides trade them for BTC. Their latest wallet also has a nifty business-blue design.

Agree with this. Every coin that hits cryptsy gains an immense value. If its already on cryptsy then its too late, you should catch them right before.

Lottocoin is the best candidate to go up there. currently very under-valued (dirt cheap) and easy to mine. good opportunity for investors as well.

This may not be a good idea, but I'm going to throw it out there anyway. I've recently started investing some very small amounts, spreading them across multiple types of VERY cheap crappy coins.

You could spend 0.05 BTC on each of IFC, XNC, ASC, DVC, GME, NET, and a few others. They're so cheap that you'd need to use LTC to buy them on cryptsy. You'll probably lose out of buying crappy coins like that, but they're so cheap that if even one of them goes up a lot, you could easily make a lot. If not, you haven't lost much.

10k on bitcoins is your safest investment

Agree with above poster. 10K in bitcoin. If you wish to diversify place some of that into litecoin. The rest you are gambling, but if you are OK with that....buy them all  ;D

digitalcoin (DGC) - Is still massively undervalued. This coin had a fair launch, unlike similar coins released around the same time. The hash rate has increased considerably recently pending the launch of the CryptoAve exchange. Good dev. and ever increasing community support.

Securecoin (SRC) - A CPU only coin based off Quark, although using Bitcoins economic model, again without a 'pre-mine'. Same great dev. as digitalcoin and this coin is also to feature on CryptoAve at launch.

Take a look at the cryptsy charts for both of these coins - even in turbulent times they have both remained mostly rock solid against BTC and even indicate a potential for an upwards trend with the increasing chance for breakout.


CryptogenicBullion (CGB) - A proof-of-stake coin for the more serious long-term crypto-currency investor. It could start to retrace in value soon.


The usual suspects - Peercoin, Primecoin, Litecoin, Anoncoin.

Perhaps Sexcoin and even Stablecoin are ones to watch this year for some big gains ?
