What's funny about this is that you need a LAW to make this happen in almost 2014. So who knows, it still may not happen! What doesn't the government control? The UK Payments Council was originally planning to abolish all cheque payments by 2018, but was forced to change its mind after public opposition. They really should've just killed them off.
