I have that UD5. I've only ever had 3 GPUs with it, but IIRC other people have had 4-5 GPUs on it with no issues.

The only problem I've ever had with this board is on my gaming rig, I couldn't overclock the CPU. Well I could OC, but the vdroop was so bad I had to jack the voltages up way too high, and then the temps were unmanageable. But that has nothing to do with mining, so I digress.

I have two systems with that motherboard.  One has four R9 290x, the other has four 7950.  All on powered risers.
AMD 13.12 Catalyst.  compiled cgminer with ADL code removed.

R9 290x: 1200W for first three, 550W for the fourth one.  The rig pulls 1200W from the wall.

For my next build, I'd use 1000W for first three+mobo and 850W for the next three.

nice :) nowadays gpus are very expensives i dont if my rig gonna make ROI even if ill spent 3000$ to make around 2800-3100kh/s,its very hard even i dont have much experience but very excited waiting my orders ,and now looking for psu suply,i thinking to do like u,ill buy better two cheaper psu instead of 1 powerful but overpriced.1 question i heard that some psu doesnt support some gpus I think it doesnt even matter
