Title: Estimate of all cards' Hash/s :) also shows best hash/$
Post by: nster on February 26, 2011, 12:01:31 PM
The prices are a tiny bit outdated, but gives you a great idea!
http://golubev.com/gpuest.htm (http://golubev.com/gpuest.htm)

take the MD5 number and multiply it by 62.63 seems to work well for the 5XXX and 6XXX series, but for the rest, it just gives you an idea in proportion. I'm guessing each series of cards have a number like the 62.63.

another one with a lot less cards is http://pastebin.com/AvymGnMJ

you can then put it here for your average time etc: http://www.alloscomp.com/bitcoin/calculator.php (http://www.alloscomp.com/bitcoin/calculator.php)

You can infer it from the MD5 data:
...take the MD5 number and multiply it by 62.63 seems to work well for the 5XXX and 6XXX series, but for the rest, it just gives you an idea in proportion. I'm guessing each series of cards have a number like the 62.63.
It looks like the 6950 should be slightly under the 5870, i.e. you won't get 313 Mhash/s, but you won't be too far off. The 6970 should be slightly better than the 5870.

https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mining_hardware_comparison

A little less than twice as fast as a 6850 and 6870.

Just want to see how to optimze parameters for my 4870.

With an unlocked firmware on a 6950 I get ~292 Mhash at 800 MHz and ~321 Mhash at 880 MHz, both with -f 20 and poclbm. When I'm at home I usually run it at 850 MHz to avoid too much fan noise, and when I'm away I run it at 915 MHz (~336 Mhash).

Not to self-promote, but if you find it interesting, I just posted a table of all the currently-available Radeons, with prices (looked up personally at NewEgg about an hour ago) and assorted derived stats in another thread:

self-promote away, this is to help people estimate Mhash/s

with -v -w 128 -f 0 and 1040 core 300 mem, I get 278~280 Mhash/s on a 6870. yes, 6870.

keep in mind that in games 975 core BSODs, let alone 1040, so don'
t be affraid to OC specifically for mining. At stock I get 229~234Mhash/s

Either the conversion factor for the 46xx series is off, or something's messed up with my miner config. I'm only getting 27mhash on my 4670, and 3 different lists are putting it around 37.

did you use -w 132 -f 0 or similar? f should be 30 or less for best performance. Also check GPU usage and clocks

For 4670 you need to use -w 32 and no vectors.

My GTX 560Ti get's about 7100Mhash/s with -w 128 -f 30
I wish I had bought a competing AMD card like the 6950 :\
(Although I think mine is better for gaming)

with 7100Mh/s you are waaaaaaay ahead of all of us

I just picked up a Radeon 5850 for $149 at TigerDirect on Tuesday and out of the box with no overclocking I'm getting 270Mhash/s with "-v -w -128 -f 60" The computer is still perfectly useable and there's only slight screen slowness. I'd say the 5850 is the best hash/$ if you're on a budget.

I'm getting ~95 from my sapphire 4870 (OC'd to 848 Mhz with rivatuner, the temp is 77C average with fan set to 37% - nice and quiet, almost no screen lags)
anything more than 848 mhz freezes the screen, so I'll just stick to it until I buy 2x 5850 ;)

If you can find them for the price, they are definitely the best. I decided a little too late to get one of the recert visionteks unfortunately. I managed to pick up a nicely used one local for $150 today though.

Pop it in my system, load my preferred BIOS and it's getting 360 Mh/s ... 2.4Mh:$1 .. sweet!

My Radeon HD6950 gives me ~405MHash/s which is better than the 5870 (afaics)
It is:
1.Overvolted to 1105mV
2.core clock is 905Mhz
3.mem clock is 947mhz (due to system stability issues)
4.Shader unlocked.

Hows that for a radeon Hd6950? Good modding skills or what?

Hey, thanks for necroing this thread. I normally would say that sarcastically, but I remembered this thread, however was unable to find it for the longest time. I like the info contained within for many uses.

On another note, every one of my 5870s can reach about 430MHash/sec, and if I had a better cooling solution could go above that (I don't overvolt because they're all stuffed together without extenders).

My 5870s get 465 Mh/s running stock voltage, no modifications to the firmware.
Running @ 1030/300.
~60C temp

I could push them a little more if I wanted to.

How's that for a 5870? :-)

If you have a reference 5870 they achieve that pretty easily.

I wish my card was that easy to mod.Are 5870s easy to get cheaply and to mod (as in clock settings) like you've done? a 5870 beating my HD6950?interesting. I guess I was wrong on the 5870's abilities. It is true that you learn something new everyday.

5870's are not easy to get cheaply. $200 is considered by some a low ball request even though that price is more then reasonable. Expect people to want up to $240.

Mike, you are not joking about the prices you can expect to find them at.I found an in stock card at this site:http://www.scan.co.uk/products/1gb-msi-hd-5870-lightning-pci-e-21-%28x16%29-4800mhz-gddr5-gpu-900mhz-1600-cores-2x-dvi-dp-hdmi?utm_source=google+shopping&utm_medium=google+shopping

As you may notice that's very pricy as I'm in UK (in UK most places are out of stock right now).I can't ship from the US as I have to pay 'import tax' in addition to shipping to reach me in UK whenever I buy things from anysite based in US.I find that annoying.Wel I suppose I can try eBay and see if that has anything.I'm having trouble finding a HD6990 as that's also sold out in UK.The cheapest refurbed one is like £539 (used),looks like they can certainly hold onto their value.I suspect the seller was mining bitcoins before deciding to sell it ;D
