Title: My first post
Post by: Darthswan on December 29, 2013, 03:12:37 PM
Good Morning,

I just wanted to say hi and get my post in here.  Been mining for a couple of weeks and I like what I'm seeing.  Getting ready to make a move on some more hashing power.  We'll see.  I currently have a small mining operation and recognize that I need more power.  One question I do have, how much hashing power can go into a US home before you start having electrical problems?

Thanks in advance.

Something from the R9 series. I am not done reading all the specs yet so I'm not sure. What are you running ATM?

I am currently running an upgraded jalapeņo cube and 4 block eruptors.  I'm getting between 8 and 10 Gh/s

Yeah I can't wait :D

I might get into ASIC, but that would have to be with on of the 2TB miners. Too expensive :P

I started in Asics, small then upgraded to the cube.  Now I'm working on between 180 and 400 Gh/s.

Yeah, I had to reverse engineer the circuit diagram in my apartment to figure out which breaker was which. I had a 15A breaker that kept snapping when I turned on the microwave. Turns out the electrician sent about 80% of my outlets through that one breaker. Kinda limits how much I'm able to mine.

Just the place for my first post! :)  I too have been slowly exploring the bitcoin rabbit hole.  I started with a bunch of old junk computers and threw together a small cluster as proof of concept, and have been slowly learning, building up and upgrading since.  I'm rather keen on the basic structure Bitcoin is based on and looking forward to seeing evolution of apps built on top of it.  There's a very html 1.0 feel about it. :)

I just registered and want to have the possibility to post. That's why I write this first post.
Most of the time I only read forum posts without writing myself.
Nice to be here with so many Bitcoin enthusiastic members :)

Hello. This is my first post as well. I just have one 7870 card in my machine and I mine off and on in mining pools. I've been mining TAGcoin mostly, but today it's VelocityCoin. It's fun to get lots of coin while the difficulty is low.

This is my first post. I wanted to know more about mining and getting started. Where can I find information on electricity usage. Information on the best hardware to use. A clearer understanding on the exchange rate. Do people make real money with mining. Real money to buy a car or payoff a house. Just want real simple answers.

Hi there!

This is my first post too. I'm not a miner, a trader and a bitcoin user purely. I've been doing this for some time now and I'm currently investing in NXT coin and looking forward in seeing how it will work out after january 3rd.

Peace!

I can't run more than one machine per circuit with "one machine" being four r280x cards and a 1250 watt power supply.

New here as well, "long time lurker" though. I'm one of the victims of the HashFast-scam, so .. really looking forward to make a group effort in that thread over there (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=262052), later. Well. :-|

I was a lurker for the longest.  I feel you on getting burned.  That's my wife's biggest concern, putting all this money out for a machine that someone might not send to you.  Well anyway, welcome.

That's why I am doing bitcoin now.  The pool I am in, also gives name coin for our efforts.  Don't know about to many other ones.  I've heard of them, but I'll stick to bitcoin for now.
