Title: What is your average kH/s?
Post by: Pietdagamer on December 29, 2013, 07:03:07 PM
I'm curious if my I have a high or low kH/s. Please post your kH/s here and the specs of your mining rig.

(I'm mining an altcoin with a GTX 760 at an average of 200 kH/s)

I have 2400 khs. an r9 270x,7970,7950, 6950, and a 7850. all the cards are pretty reliable. I obviously do scrypt mining, mostly DOGE. but right now I'm messing around with new scrypt coins that have come out recently. I do have an interesting tidbit, my sapphire 7950 fan bearing went bad and it started making terrible noises. While I was waiting on a new fan to come in from ebay, I let the fan continue to run at full blast. to my suprise, the fan motor (not the gpu) got so hot that one of the blades got hot enough that the plastic blade flung off ! luckily I had a spare cpu fan to put in front of it while I removed the bad fan and waited only 2 more days for the new fan to come in hahah !

So I recently bought a new Gigabite Radeon R9 270 for around $230. With proper config, I reached 450 kH/s.

"setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS=1

cgminer --scrypt -o xxx -u xxx -p xxx -I 19 -g 1 -w 512 --thread-concurrency 15232 --temp-target 63 --temp-cutoff 85 --lookup-gap 2 --gpu-memdiff 0"

My question is, should I believe my cgminer or pool stats with kH/s?

Your cgminer will have a more accurate representation of what you are mining at. You would be able to obtain more kh's with intensity on 20 but you would have to change other settings to accommodate it so no HW errors occur.

Already sold all my miners a few months ago, not sure that was the right choice

around 9000Kh/s with 5850x3,5870x8, 5970x4 7870x2 and R9 270X x2
assembled on 2x ASROCK 970 extreme4 and one ASROCK 990 FX extreme4 plus a few old motherboards only accepting 2 graphic cards
Powered by 3x Antec TPQ1200, one Antec TPQ 850, one Antec HCG850 and one  Antec HCG900

Waiting for one 970 extreme4 to put on 3x 5850 that are waiting to hash

BTW, it's hot in my room, even with the window half open in winter.

A whopping 580khash with 2x gtx 670's.  Even with the improvement with cudaminer, it's not enough to be profitable mining anything unless it's a new coin on day one. :'(

At the moment I have 2 x 2.5 GH/s.
I'm looking to buy something better soon, the ASIC cube looks to have some good reviews.
What do you guys think? Is the cube the best option available? and how long until something even better gets out?

This looks like Bitcoin mining. Any link to the cube ?  I hear it first time :)

6 x Asus 280x Direct CU2 TOP @ 743-745kh/s each = 4.5Mh/s

Undervolted 1100 or 1068 in trix and running 1060/1500 - i13 - tc8192 -w256

ASUS Sabertooth 990FX Motherboards

Running with open air frames @72c in summer.

These Asus R9 280X CU2s do pretty much 745kh/s out of the box and are voltage unlocked.

I turned GPU clock down from default of 1070 to 1060 and undervolted to get power usage and heat down.
That way the GPU fans are only running at 1500-2000 rpm so not so noisy and keeps the watts through PSU down as well.

Are we talking scrypt here?
If so;

Deskstop:
   GPU- HD 6850: 235kh/s
   CPU- i7 920: 27kh/s

Laptop:
   CPU- i7 3610QM: 36kh/s

also; https://litecoin.info/Mining_hardware_comparison is a good resource for finding what speeds you can get and the best setting for your miner.

Thanks for sharing your settings, but even matching yours I can't get pass 500... It might be the fact that the system is an old workstation with an Nvidia Quadro FX5800 (Currently not being used for mining) but I guess there might be some conflict there...

Hi,

I use 2 280x Graphiccards
At the moment I have maxed them out but I haven't tweaked anything, they are doing 730 KHash each :)
I'm thinking of getting a couple of extra GPUs but then I need to upgrade my motherboard aswell ^^
Although I do got some great money from the Earthcoin jump, so 2 or 3 more 280s would be possible :D

well some of you guys must be doing gr8, while i'm saving  up for a new card:
my asus hd 5670 can deliver 80-100 khps, and when i add in the amd phenomII x3 @ 2.8, add about 11 khps (or makes a good scout)
but if i use both, i can get a steady 100

I have two R9 290X and they do around 680 KH/sec.  Shouldn't they get more?

Code:
GPU 0:                | 666.7K/677.7Kh/s | A:8913664 R:9472 HW:0 WU: 618.7/m I:14
GPU 1:                | 705.2K/695.9Kh/s | A:9243392 R:7168 HW:0 WU: 641.4/m I:14

Almost any configuration I try gets HW errors.  Right now I have intensity 14, worksize 512, thread-concurrency 16384, gpu-engine 1025, gpu-memclock 1350, gpu-powertune 20, gpu-threads 2.
