Title: Steve Jobs Resigns as CEO of Apple Post by: Intervex Digital on August 24, 2011, 11:28:36 PM Just saw this come across the wire... What do people think of this? Is Tim Cook up to the task as successor?
Quote To the Apple Board of Directors and the Apple Community: I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple's CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come. I hereby resign as CEO of Apple. I would like to serve, if the Board sees fit, as Chairman of the Board, director and Apple employee. As far as my successor goes, I strongly recommend that we execute our succession plan and name Tim Cook as CEO of Apple. I believe Apple's brightest and most innovative days are ahead of it. What do people think of this? Is Tim Cook up to the task as successor? Steve jobs WAS APPLE. No one believed in his company except for he. Much of his success was due to cheap labor (China) and price gouging (USA , AND EUROPE). He was indeed a visionary, and maybe he thought/thinks we should have already been much more advanced as a race than we already are. He was known as an isolationist and didn't like people. I once read a story about how a Student was trying to get an interview with him for her master paper.
