Those who are interested in coins that are fundamentally different than bitcoin will just look elsewhere. Fair enough, although I imagine that as a short term factor - short being a few months which is plenty long in cryptocurrency time. It is a bit deceiving for the investor to see a graph of the market cap. The market crap grows higher with not only the price but the number of coins that are mined. So as more coins are mined and if the market cap stays the same, the price actually goes down! For the investor, it is the price movement that counts.
