Post by: haploid23 on August 25, 2011, 02:27:15 AM i believe MSI 890FXA-GD70 or GD65 can run 6 slots. i personally have not tested it with this many though. i use the MSI xpower Big Bang x58 for 6 cards right now, it can support 7, but i have not tested it for the 7th card yet. i will soon though, when my build is complete. it's not exactly a cheap board though, about $300 for the motherboard and $200 for CPU. i haven't been good with updating performance numbers, but here's more info if you want to follow this specific motherboard:

or does the PCI to PCI-E way works too? Title: Re: which is the cheapest motherboard that support 6 video card without problem? Post by: haploid23 on August 25, 2011, 02:35:19 AM pci to pci-e adapter should work, although these adapters are not cheap either.

I haven't tested this though and can only guess it's likely the same. http://www.ebay.com/itm/PCI-PCI-E-Converter-Adapter-Bridge-Card-/320739099762?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4aad8a4472 I'd love to know if these work well. |
