Title: Crypto Mining Rig With Case $800+ to spend Post by: granitepeaker on December 30, 2013, 10:43:32 PM I know I'm late to the game for building a mining rig, but hopefully there is still some money to be had.
I've got about $800 to initially spend. Once I make back my ROE I'd like to keep adding graphic cards. I will be keeping my mining rig in my office and will need an enclosed case rather than a milk crate design. I don't particularly want to wait months till a certain back ordered item is available. I'd like a mobo that can handle 4-6 graphic cards. I've built simple computers before, but never one with multiple GPUs or risers. I'd be very grateful if someone could spec me out all the parts that $800 (approx) can buy for the best hash rate. Leaving it upgradeable for more GPUs. Also please list parts that are not impossible to find. Links preferred. I'll probably use the rig for Litecoins and emerging crypto currencies and not for bitcoins. Thanks! You can find an alright deal with the 280xs that come with battlefield. Just do not run the wheels off the bus when it comes to fan speed! Once you get into 2 cards per case then you run into heat issues. I have a great case and was getting heat issues with 2 7950s. That is prolly due to my girlfriend cranking the house's heat to 80 degrees! Good luck and remember don't go too deep, that you cant pull your self out of! The ROI is usually alot longer then the calculators say. You might get lucky you might not.

He has a great low cost setup, just add a case. Your biggest problem will be getting the parts he suggests. They are sold out and over priced on Ebay.

So you would buy an AMD APU over say AMD Athlon II X2 270 Regor 3.4 GHz 2x1 MB L2 Cache Socket AM3 65W Dual-Core Desktop Processor? If my rig was just going to use two GPUs like the 7950 or 7970 then which AMD A4 or AMD6 series processor should I get? |
