Title: ***PETITION*** Clean Up This Forum! READ NOW and Act
Post by: tk808 on December 31, 2013, 04:04:57 AM
We need assistance admins, clean up this forum section. Create a giveaway section to start. Will clean up most of the spam.

This forum is going downhill fast. Post something, let the mods know we are unhappy with all these giveaway and bullshit alt-coins

+1 this thread, post a picture, do whatever if you are not sure what to say.

Clear Consensus of what we want :

1) Giveaway Section
2) ... TBC

I kinda agree with this but I'm not sure how you would enforce it fairly. Under stricter moderation Dogecoin might never have happened.

It would be nice to see sub forums for:

  • Speculation
  • Mining
  • Exchanges
  • Promotions
  • Launch Announcements

I'll love to have subs under altcoins... one for Announcements, one for giveways, one for new pool, one for trades, one for support...

But where do you want it to end? can'T starts monitoring 4-5 forums because all the info will be divided

Splitting it for example may not be a bad idea.  I get alerted for every topic and the vast majority of them are:

* Join my new 1% pool, the 30th pool of its kind for a coin you're not interested in mining.
* Scamcoin is a scam
* Hey owner of an exchange! I'm treating this as your support forum! You've wronged me!
* X-COIN IS ABOUT TO EXPLODE! BUY NOW BUY NOW, i'm full of regret :(
* I've tried to withdraw from this exchange and I've waited 5 whole minutes with no results! Anyone else?

I really only care about new coin announcements.

Why?

It has been said by the mods numerous times that this is not going to happen.

We need this thread to stick, not just 10 people posting.

Pretty soon, this forum will lose a lot of it's core following due to the non-stop spam.

Your post begins with "We need assistance admins, clean up this forum section." so you'll accept my skepticism. Maybe you were calling for the users to support your thread and for the mods to see your post? Who knows --or cares-- what it is.

Furthermore, the mods have repeatedly rejected similar petitions. My only advice: deal with it.

This is not just about splitting up the alt-coin sections, it's also about scam coins and untrustworthy people.

Altcoins are where new ideas and technologies can be safely tested. Those in turn can benefit bitcoin. It's really not in their interests to treat this section as the bastard red-headed step-child.

When you sweep the floor, do you flick the pile all over the wall when you're done or do you gently push the shit into a dustpan?

sweep it gently and then shit into the dustpan.

What part of "Not Happening" from Theymos, the founder/owner/admin of Bitcointalk do you not understand?

Before you delve off into something in stupidland by saying, "Then we'll just start our own alt forum and take most of BCT's traffic with us" keep in mind that is exactly what they want, that is, for all of this alt coin garbage to leave. Actually a few "alt forums" have been tried and they all fail because all alts are tied directly to Bitcoin. As far taking any significant amount of traffic, this sub forum is less than 10% of the total traffic and is about 99% of this bullshit no site wants.

The only reason this forum exist is to keep the very crap you are complaining about that being spam, giveaways and pointless threads out of the main Bitcoin forum. It seems to work beautifully as you idiots think this is the "main board" LOL

~BCX~

LOL. But still you have to admit this section is getting very bloated to the point is almost unusable.
