Title: How to save bitcoins to USB drive Post by: JayFromBoston on December 31, 2013, 07:05:32 PM I downloaded Bitcoin-qt but cannot complete the initial sync because i dont have enough space on my laptop. I want to save my bitcoins on a USB drive. Do i have to complete the sync to do this?

You can use command line switches to tell it to use your usb drive instead, like -datadir d:bitcoin

They work without downloading the entire block chain. No blockchain required.
