Title: Cryptsy v/s Coinex
Post by: CheekyChappy on December 31, 2013, 09:15:19 PM
After reading a post from a user in the IFC thread I started, I decided to visit the coinex site as I never knew it existed.

I have to say it is similar to Cryptsy even though it has less crypto choice but does it have all the issues and problems that Cryptsy has?

What are your experiences of using Coinex and which do you prefer (and why): Cryptsy, Bter, Coinex or another? Which other exchanges are out there?

i used coinex for the first time last night and it was very smooth. also learned a thing or two while paying attention to the traders in the chat box. decent chatbox. not a trollbox.. yet.

coinex is super fast! Its a breeze compared to cryptsy. Everything is realtime, you can see the buy and sell orders breaking in realtime. GREAT!

Thank you for the feedback. I think I will sign up and see what happens.

Does anyone know what are the transaction fees are like?

So not like Cryptsy where it is .20% for buying and .30 for selling. No problem, I think I will give it  go :)

Thanks for the feedback

can you consider using columns and rows? My brain can't take the layout in properly. I need structure to make sense of things.

It's a good site, though. If Cryptsy can't get its act together I reckon you can take a huge segment of their market (probably already have)

(PS - I can see some rows but they're very light-coloured)

I think I might follow too but just waiting to see what happens over the coming days.

I don't hear a lot of great things about Cryptsy. Is it just because it has higher trade volumes?

I started using Coinex yesterday, best exchange period in my opinion. I like how everything auto updates without having to refresh. Layout is nice and clean too.

I've found the site a bit slow & clunky but hopefully that will improve over time.

Cryptsy is slow and complete garbage. I cannot believe how many glitches and problems I've had with the site.

I have been using the site for roughly 3 weeks and had to submit 5 help tickets and my issues is STILL not resolved. The site is a joke.

It takes 10x longer to submit or withdraw anything from Cryptsy and half the time while I'm trying to navigate the site I get booted out and have to log in again.

It is because the website is slow and sometimes coin vanish. You then have to open tickets and end up receiving automated ticket updates. Then sometimes the service you receive is not good, many people with lost or vanished coins waiting weeks with still no resolution. Also too many 502 Bad Gateways a couple of weeks ago.

I think people with open tickets vent their frustration regularly here in this forum.

Their website has certainly improved over the last few days, it is noticeable, more faster but still lagging in too many places.

Not really what I want from a site when I'm trying to trade fast based on live pricing. I'll join Cryptsy, but I won't be putting a lot of btc into it.

why not use BTC-e? their fees are lower then that if I'm not mistaken is something like 0.06%.

from btc-e site:
In order to pay for server space, bandwidth, programmers, designers, and other costs, BTC-e imposes a standard: Fee – 0.2% - 0.5%. fee on every transaction performed by all users of the website. This transaction may vary and may be different for each individual account.

i stopped trading on crAptsy since a while as they have too many problems and support is rubbish.

coinex.pw is much better. Let's hope that it will stay good.

Does the lack of coin choices at Coinex not phase you? I think Cryptsy has the most number of crypto at any exchange/

coinex the best, but they need "Amount"  auto-calculate, when you make buy order.

Interesting... these add-ons might get added if the demand is made known to their developers.

I vote Frozen [Fz] and Particle [PRT]

Both awesome coins with lots of potential that would benefit both needs: stability and steady growth in price for one and volume for the other.

Please consider adding these

After our recent encounter on the Particle thread I managed to get that going on my cloud droplet thanks to instacash. I have 125PRT in 20 minutes... I suppose that is not good but it is a learning curve :)

I feel more confident about re-trying Frozen now because I could not get it to work when I last tried.

Thanks for your feedback

Congrats! 125 in 20 minutes isnt that bad ;) Just remember there will be 1 billion in total

I made a transaction with Cryptsy few days ago and was all done in seconds, my new BTC were deposited in my account very fast. There are BTC volumes available for every coin unlike Coinex where you place an order and wait for a buyer, and wait, and wait.... correct me if im wrong.

Yes, they have fixed many of issues they had...
I like the Cryptsy better then any other exchange:
  1) Volume
  2) I trust them

Well, Cryptsy stores my BTC for me. I have no BTC wallet. What will happen when i place a sell order for another coin to get BTC? Where are they gonna be deposited? Im not critisizing anyone here. Just looking for answers..

Cryptsy got many complaints but the volume speak for itself. those numbers = real votes.

so I think coinex  got work to do. the auto calculate button is a start.

Cryptsy has the highest volume on most coins compared to other exchanges - so that's nice, buys and sells complete pretty quickly if your price is right.

Cryptsy also has the best user interface, in my opinion, when everything is working smoothly.

*WHEN EVERYTHING IS WORKING SMOOTHLY*
*WHEN EVERYTHING IS WORKING SMOOTHLY*

Problem with Cryptsy is that any modest increase in volume brings their site to a crawl, I get logged out alot and have to re-login, and pages are VERY slow to load, trades take forever to execute and balances take forever to update.

Coinex.pw is also very good - good, easy to use and fast interface.  But they have their problems as well.  Not long ago, their site simply displayed "Maintenance mode" for several days - then for about a day after that it just redirected to Cryptsy.  Working well the past couple days though.

Bottom line is all of the exchanges have their problems - pick the ones you can live with :)

we fixed that button.

we are working nonstop to get better and fix issues and add features.

right now we implemented a profit switchpool for scrypt and SHA.

the only real advance what coinex have is trading and minig in the same time

yhat is my opinion
when (and if) coinex have big volume like crypsy then we cen compare cites

like this it just empty talk

Cryptsy values adding new coins over customer service and providing decent server use. The issues with Cryptsy in the past month are ridiculous. Three weeks for some people to get their funds. Unacceptable.

Coinex is a great site, the fees are a tad on the high side I find but I prefer them over Craptsy.

I really wish Coinex would get the volume support, but I also have a feeling Coinex would fold under the traffic that cryptsy gets. But really, cryptsy has just been an embarrassment.

That is the most unsafe thing one can do.
Store coins in a place where there are lots of them a single place to be hacked and you will never see them again, I do Hope you don't have too many coins, so if something happens your loss won't be too much!

I trade with Bter, Criptsy, CoinEX for altcoin.
Bter has good costumer support much better than Cryptsy
I only traded a few coins with Cryptsy, then came across so many bad reviews that I got my coins out there and transferred to other Trading House.
