Title: middlecoin and my log file a few questions.
Post by: MrJoshwaa on January 01, 2014, 07:19:42 AM
Hi, I have been mining digital coins for a little while now. Using both a ATI and Nvidia powered rig.

Recently I thought id give middlecoin multipool a run https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=259649.0

Well the logs I receive are quite different then when mining digital coins and I'm not sure if things are right or not.

Here is a typical log from my cudaminer, see I seem to get a lot of stratum connection interrupted

Code:
[2014-01-01 18:05:15] Starting Stratum on stratum+tcp://middlecoin.com:3333/

Im not sure if its a config problem on my end or if the servers problem? or if its even a problem. When I mine DGC I see no such errors

The ATI card im running in another rig on another internet connection gives similar logs and after running for 3 hours has only accepted 37 shares and have had 3 stales. It is a modest 5770 with around 200khs

Hmm looks like no one uses middlecoin?

I just started with Middlecoin and I'm too receiving frequent stratum connection failure. At first I thought something was wrong with my machine but after seeing this thread, it looks like the problem is on Middlecoin's end.

Ok thanks for the reply, yeah I have had it mining for 18 hours now, accepted 380 shares and have had 39 stales, thats a loss of 10% not real good at all.

I get alot of disconnects from middlecoin too.  They've got ALOT more traffic over the month or so and are having trouble keeping up.  My stales are still only within the ~2-3% though.

You really need to leave it running for a full day for it to even out, especially with such a low hashrate GTX480.

There will be times where you get 1 share in 15 minutes, then get 3 shares in the same minute... but it all works out in the end.

Ok thanks, yeah the GTX480 is a very modest performer  :-\

Out of curiosity if I have 2 separate rigs mining, can i use the same bitcoin address as the username on both rigs?

Or will this screw up the middlecoin accounting system? Is it just better to generate 2 separate bitcoin address?

No, you can use both rigs with the same address, it just pays out based on accepted shares @ 512 difficulty.  It'll just show your combined MHash/second on the charts.
