Title: Testnet blockchain split? Post by: Economics on August 26, 2011, 12:06:19 AM Hi I'm seeing some transactions on testnet that were confirmed and are now not confirmed. I'm not sure what this is called, so I'm calling it a 'split' where maybe a parallel blockchain tookover the official blockchain.
Here's an example transaction id that was confirmed: a6d8feac3a7aba1da8fe11a35a54274c5f2bcff953f24370d970020f873e5555 It was 500 BTC received from mveRCV1jkAKstF4rDet8iUwE793TKdPVum It was sent on 8/21/2011. Can anyone explain this for me? Thanks --E Title: Re: Testnet blockchain split? Post by: jackjack on August 26, 2011, 12:19:49 AM There was a post about that a couple days ago, in the discussion forum
Basically somebody mined blocks on his own disconnected from internet, managed to get a longer block chain and then released it All the clients forgot the "true" shorter blockchain and accept this one |
