I severely doubt it, but it is possible* that the service operator (silkroad) could credit your account (out of his own pocket). Bottom line: Trust no-one, check your OS for spyware / malware (assuming Windows).

Did they give you a clue on how they disappeared like that? I'm new, but I thought silk road was one of the more solid marketplaces for bitcoin transactions.
