My C: drive space is diminishing day by day as the sync goes on. How do i delete completely?? Please suggest me some online wallet. Can i change the bitcoin address in the GUIminer to a new address ??? :'( Well, BitCoin-Qt takes about 12GB of disk space if I'm correct. Delete the Bitcoin folder in C:\ drive, make sure you can view hidden files and then open Start and type in the text box "%appdata%" without the quotes of course and delete the Bitcoin folder in it. I'd recommend you MultiBit, it's not online wallet, but people use it as BitCoin-Qt alternative, it doesn't sync so long and doesn't take such space on your PC. Also you could try Armory, but as far as I know for that you'll need BTC-Qt, so basically switch to MultiBit... :) EDIT: Yes you can change the address in GUIminer, but you'll have to edit the miner. ;) Title: Re: How to uninstall Bitcoin-qt wallet. I have a COINBASE online account and I am currently using GUI-miner and mining via Slush's pool. Can i update my COINBASE wallet address and delete the Bitcoin-qt address in Slush's mining server? ??? :o Title: Re: How to uninstall Bitcoin-qt wallet. Its eating 9+ GB of my C: drive Post by: ttotalkaos on January 01, 2014, 10:11:00 PM The blockchain is what is taking up all the space. It is located (usually) in c:\users\[username]\appdata\Bitcoin
Delete this folder after ensuring that the bitcoin program (usually referred to as the "wallet") is not running. If you will not be using the bitcoin-qt wallet again, then you need to update (or just remove) any references to the BTC addresses associated with the wallet in your coinpools, and any other out-paying services you have. You can get online wallets, or use one of the low-overhead wallet options (like multibit) referenced on the bitcoin.org website. But remember to follow security guidelines for online wallets. Search them here if you don;t know what these guidelines are. Hope this helps. --ttot Title: Re: How to uninstall Bitcoin-qt wallet.
