Title: Signatures: links, colors, sizes and frustration.
Post by: player01 on January 02, 2014, 03:22:02 AM
I was a little hesitant about posting a new one about this because after searching the forums, I am getting the idea that I am probably an idiot. But here goes.

All I want to do is change my signature to use a larger font... Red... and then have 1 line of text with a good deal of space between two small sentences.

Obviously this is a simple task that I failed at. I spent well over 2 hours last night trying to figure out how to do it, I downloaded 2 wysiwyg editors for BBCode, used several websites that supposedly converted rich text (or whatever the cool kids are calling it these days) into BBCode.

Every time I tried it, some or all of the codes became visible  and you would see things like [tab]  [tab] [large=#C00231] (or whatnot)
and the link code becomes visible, or the text does not enlarge or change color.

I see everyone's cool signatures and they have background colors and all sorts of stuff that I can't even find codes for in BBCode.
I am thinking it has to do with the order or nesting of codes, but no matter how I switch it around I have issues.

Now my signature is a tldr mess and I need help. Those gambling site ones that I see everywhere are a good starting point if I could get the code copied and pasted... I tried to understand how it worked, but my mind swam,  and It didn't connect... help?    ??? ??? ???

Different versions of BBcode are often not compatible. Write your signature in the post composition box with the helpful buttons, use preview to see how it looks, and then copy that.

Ok, got that. It is showing up red with a red shadow, right? Good. I am glad this is working well. Oh, and nobody needs a button that gives you an option to sum up the address without showing the whole link. I certainly don't /sarc

EDIT: These buttons are "helpful"!

It's still just blue, but weirdly on the topic summary it shows as red, but isn't a clickable link there.

Try this:
