I think the current growth rate will only speed up, not slow down. So, I'm guessing it will hit 10,000 at some point this year.

The real world needs time to catch up to the new prices. The bitcoin price can't reach its full potential until the system around it reaches full potential, ie. ATMs everywhere, multiple competing hardware wallets, much smoother fiat/BTC exchange, clearer regulatory framework, better PoS systems, better mobile wallets. That endeavor is going to take much more than just one year.

I believe we'll get there, but we can't justify a full blown bitcoin price without first having the necessary infrastructure in place. Bitcoins are still FAR from mainstream.

that is about 13x what it is worth today. a lot of people like to make the point that bitcoin has increased more than 50 fold this year, but compaing a jump from $10 to $700 is not quite the same as $700 to $10,000.

I think so. My guess is around $4k usd around 2014-03-01 :)

I'm going with 1 because I believe in the possibility. I think a few grand is likely but we'll see. Go BTC!

The important thing is that if the current holders of bitcoin believe that's the price, then they aren't likely to sell much UNTIL it reaches that price, which almost becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.

I expect BTC value to be around $3,500 a year from now.

Now it's 2017 but bitcoin prices have not reached $ 10,000.

Long back itself users have thought about the bitcoin price reaching $10000. So right now most users making prediction to reach $10000 seems realistic. It didn't happen at 2014, at least by 2024 we can expect this to happen as halving happens by the year 2020 and then on 2024.

The grand prize for the "No shit, Sherlock!" awards is a slap on the face. You sure you still want one? :P

Funny back then, how members speculating what the price of bitcoin will be and some are very eager to get to $10000, maybe they have fully trusted bitcoin then. But now we realized that we can't really predict the price of bitcoin because of its volatility, all we can do it make a "educated guess" and still missed it.

Optimism is always there, and we know that bitcoin will eventually reach that price but the most important thing to know is when, I think we will need 5 to 10 years to reach that price, to me that is a more realistic time frame for bitcoin to reach that price.
