Title: QQC - needs a p2p pool - who here knows how to do this?
Post by: cryptohunter on January 02, 2014, 12:59:35 PM
QQcoin all pools are constantly under ddos and that coin really needs a p2p pool. Is there anyone here that can do this? I think all QQ miners will move to it once it is up.

Or even someone with skills to make a stable pool with ddos prevention would be good. Seems people are putting up pools that have no protection at all.

ATM all i has is common algorythm i can share. If someone make a pool for himself - i will be happy.
If someone make (than) pool for me - i pay and thank him.  Here it is:

Quote
"I used CentOS64 for it.  It has all the requirements like build tools, Apache, & MySQL. I just downloaded the qq wallet source from the github link in the OP and grabbed MPOS from https://github.com/TheSerapher/php-mpos

I mostly followed the guide on https://github.com/TheSerapher/php-mpos/wiki/Quick-Start-Guide that comes with MPOS, specifially for the stratum stuff, but I had to get the scrypt-jayne stratum mining module from https://github.com/Rav3nPL/p2pool-yac/tree/master/yac_scrypt and modify the c source with the specifics for qqcoin.

Once QQ sources are compiled, create a mysql database to hold all the account/balance/shares info, import the sql schemas to the database, start the wallet up and copy the MPOS files to the apache www root directory and modify the config.php with desired settings, pointing to your database and RPC port of the wallet.

Good luck. ;)

don't know is it important or not, but pool have to support scrypt-jane coin, as QQcoin is.

i think solo is still possible if you have enough gpu power, i also have my cpu's running on it same time.

Solo is still doable for now.. but for mass market you will need a pool.

Perhaps we can start a bounty for a p2pool with pledges

even a normal pool will be fine so long as reliable and has protection even a 5% fee would be acceptable for now. The owner will make a good amount.

John dorien says his pool works fine? he usually makes great pools, is this pool not working okay?

I am solo so have not really tested any out yet?

What chance solo now? For say one 280x card?  How many hours/block?  Any tips in solo mining settings? Like scantime?

About POOLS currently existing.
THEY 90% WORKS!
JUST under DDOS they disable statistics. Yes, this nervous thing, but mining works and rewards calculated and payed later even with 10 hours freeze.  Run into it 3 times already.

in the nearest days it will become impossible.
and it impossible for a great army of small miners now, which will be out of boat. it's not right way.
we really need p2pool, i think.

i used one from applecoin, BUT it f*cking slow anyway (seems like algorithm proof from ASICS working)

I think, scan time not as important now, since the diff has gone up. That is more important at the start i think. Although not 100% sure about it.

However 1 x 280x will take some time to get a block for sure.

Did you try j doriens pool? did it have the same disconnecting issues? is it getting ddos?

yep, for the last 5-6 hours i've tried to mine at his pool. so tired.....
perhaps it is not fine for me only. don't know.

i tried all pools existing, all working even in they freeze.

You will see last block finder as UNKNOWN and time found last block freeze. This is sign of DDOS but mining seems continue working

im sure someone can make a p2p pool. a QQC whale could provide a bounty to motivate someone.

this is why sometime premine from dev is good.  Can give big bounties for things like this. However if we all agree pool operator can charge 5% fee, this will certainly provide some motivation. 5% is a lot of QQ ready to be had.

probably not many whales on this because block time so fast it was orphan hell for everyone. Needed a low latency connection for best results. Hash alone was not enough.

im sure some ppl here hold very large ammount of QQC . just team up and everyone add to the bounty.

I would guess more like $100 also if not p2p pool server cost will be quite a bit need powerful hardware. However the person with the only working fully ddos protected pool charging 5% will make some good returns.

Anyone know where the biggest applecoin and tix pools are?

its sooo weird; on my testing server it works fine (also connecting to the stratum)

but on the live server is keeps giving me the weird 'no error' error when trying to connect.

have asked the hosting provider if they by any chance block the 3333 port (although i've tried various others and getwork)

i know what the issue is. i expect to have a decent pool running tomorrow.

IT WORKS (I hope...)

http://qqc.pooljunkie.nl/

feel free to test and let me know.

As its 1.30AM here right now; i'm off to bed!

Tomorrow i will continue and fix any remaining issues.

Please let me know what your results are. Mine for like 5-10 minutes and post the results here. I cannot guarantee yet it works flawlessly, haha Smiley

who knows how to resolve the 'share above target' error message?

Seems fixed; testing now, pray we hit a block fast and all works fine!

It really works this time! The starting time for the scrypt-jane module had to be altered in the stratum-mining software; stupid me...

Please come and boost up our network rate to mine this wonderful coin!
