There has been some controversy around the recent announcement of RapeCoin: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=395747.40

As any cryptocurrency only can succeed if it is supported by the community especially in the delicate context of rape, the best option in my opinion is to let the community vote on whether this coin should ever come into existence. The poll will be open for 5 days. A simple majority wins the decision about the future of RapeCoin.

Rape is awful and is not a term to be thrown around lightly. I don't support this coin and I don't think the crypto community in general should be at all associated with sexual violence.

Just take some other coin and donate if you wish to help the victims of rape.
Making coin named rapecoin is very bad idea imho.

Rename it, I get your idea, but it's naming is totally too explicit. Something less abrupt, maybe VictimCoin or HopeCoin.

or call it PinkCoin and make it about Breast Cancer    :D
