Title: Venmo declining payments...bitcoin wouldn't!
Post by: HabBear on May 18, 2018, 11:12:11 PM
I've run into trouble with the Venmo peer-to-peer payment application. They've been declining my payments. I have more than enough money in the account, I'm making the payment to someone I've made successful payments to before, the payments are the size of a few hundred dollars, the same amount every few weeks.

I contacted the Venmo support team and they said that my transactions are triggering security flags. They won't tell me what the security issue or perceived threat is, what my behavior is doing to trigger such flags, or offering any solution to fix the problem - they don't even want to fix the problem! It's such a frustrating situation.

Anyone else experiencing something similar?

To add insult to injury, the suggested I use another P2P payment app...specifically PayPal, their parent company!

What a joke, as if I'd use their parent company offering after Venmo declared they don't care about my business.

This is another reason to use bitcoin and cryptocurrency. Crypto wouldn't deny my transaction for anything less than user error.

I'm bumping this one time to see if anyone else on this forum has had troubles with Venmo.

Apparently I'm not the only one complaining.

Here's list of several complaints: https://www.consumeraffairs.com/finance/venmo.html (https://www.consumeraffairs.com/finance/venmo.html)

Nice list of complaints...
I was about to try the services of Venmo, but thanks for this topic, I'll move on.
Cryptocurrency can be a solution for the transfer but there can be a challenge if you want to cashout that crypto officially, if you are an Average Joe in connection with the cryptos...

Wise choice. It'll just give you a headache later on. It's best not to waste your time setting up the infrastructure or expectations with friends, families, and colleagues. And sure as hell don't use PayPal. PayPal is Venmo...neither deserves our business!

This is typically what happens when companies partner with large companies. They stop caring about the individual and their support team cannot handle all the problems. Coinbase is a good example of this, because they are becoming notorious for their bad customer support and shit attitude towards their customers.

When you signup 50 000 new customers per day, you are less likely to bother with the 1000 customers you lose, due to poor customer support.  >:(
