Title: READ THIS BEFORE RELEASING YOUR COINS!!!!!!!!!!! Post by: Kenshin on January 03, 2014, 09:43:07 PM I am really annoyed that all the Altcoin's QT wallets doesn't work. Could all developers please... please... test all your software works before releasing them PLEASE!!
If you want your coin to succeed. This should be at the top of your list. Most users here uses Linux, because it is more secure to have your wallets on this OS. If your linux QT wallet don't work. You will have less people mining or collecting your coins. Catcoin-QT wallet in Linux is a very good example, the developer released it. The wallet don't work for Windows, Mac and Linux. It took a lot of members of this forum to get it to work. And to this day, only catcoind is working for Linux, and the QT wallet still don't work. It even have a fork for it. And the developer even use the fork version in the announcement link. This is just plan lazy. You want your coin to succeed. Make sure all the wallets works before releasing your coin. Coins are financial applications, the very first thing should be security. Don't pre-announce your coins!!! Pools are not ready to handle the traffic. Scrypt is not ready to handle the traffic. Announce your coin when it is ready and everything will be fine. I have mined a recently announced scrypt coin with prohibition to use gpu in the first 2 days of it's existence. Guess what...solo mining and no rejects no orphans just valid blocks. Litecoin scrypt that is used for every altcoin was not designed for gpu it can handle at high difficulty but on low diff it is just a waste of time. |
