Title: Derp, 960 Pages of 'Hello' :)
Post by: creativecuriosity on January 04, 2014, 10:38:45 AM
Well, I suppose I am the 960*posts/pageth newb to say Howdy :)

I had a Bitcoin wallet I mined myself like 4 years ago...... had somewhere around 100 coins in it :(

I was just fooling around and have since formatted, hammered upon, and generally have no idea which hard-drive the wallet was on.

Ah well, no time like the present to check everything out again, right?

Sam.

Hi, That Hard desk of hours should be checked by a microscope  :P seriously you should try looking into it as much as you can .
if someone had a time machine and would like to profit,BTC's in 2011 should be a main destination (a btc for 0.02 cents and faucet paying 50 BTC's  ::) )

Well, so I decided to dig a little deeper.... I found a wallet.dat file, a .lock file, and a bitcoin client version 0.4.0-beta.

But it is showing up as an empty wallet with no listings on the block explorer.

I am a bit a noob, but I am absolutely positive I mined a handful of coins back when I was messing around back then.....

I have a distinct memory of like encrypting it or something.... could someone give me the 2 sentence run-down on how that all might have worked back then and how it is possible that the wallet is now showing a 0 balance?
