Title: My "Rig"
Post by: hi_i_am_a_nerd on January 05, 2014, 06:37:53 AM
My "rig" if you want to call is that, is one Sapphire 7850. Not exactly a rig or that great of a card. Sometimes ill just mine with my CPU with is a xeon and will get me about 35 khs. My 7850 on average gives me 290 khs. I've been really getting into bitcoin and litecoin lately. Ive been "studying" ir for a couple months now. I really want to get a real rig to mine. Kinda hard when your 15  :( I already planned it out to get an asrock mobo. And start out with 2 7970's. Then start to slowy upgrade to around 4 gpus. The only problem is cash! If someone is nice enough, if they are bitcoin rich and wanna help out a new miner, 1 BTC would get me started! Haha yea right! Thanks for reading! Hopefully ill lose my newbie status soon! (its been over 4 hours) BTC ;D

If you're looking for money ask for advice, if you're looking for advice ask for money:

With what you have your best bet is to do a ton of research on some alts, choose one and mine as much as you can before it really catches on;  Then you can afford some bitcoin (or maybe litecoin) asics...  Right now you are probably costing your parents more in power than you are making.

Since you're already mining with your cpu, consider primecoins (XPM) as well. With a Xeon getting 35 Kh/s mining scrypt you should be able to reach the payout limit on rpool.net reasonably fast (every couple of days). That way you have some coins to play around with. Consider using some trail vps subscriptions as well, being able to set up a linux server in the cloud is good skill to have if you consider getting a job in IT later in life ;)
