Title: restarting or powering on/off miners remotely
Post by: renodaret on January 06, 2014, 05:39:38 PM
ok here is my question. i have been home all weekend confiuring miners, etc

got my farm running nicely all in their own mining room, temperature control, the works.

i get to work this morning to notice one of my 4 gpu machines is not detecting on teamviewer, this pissed me off because i work 14 hours days and having 1.2+mh lost for those 14 hours sucks

the miner needs a power cycle. (turn off and turn back on the reboot) or a reset would acomplish this as well

how would i remotely do this with teamviewer not working?

i even thought of wiring the reset buttons to actuators that i can activate via my phone or something.

any ideas or anyone with similar problems?

If your systems need forced reboots, there is something wrong. They should run for days/weeks/months without problems.

For remote monitoring and remote configuration, including restarting the miner (cgminer, not a computer reboot), take a look at cgwatcher and cgremote.

APC AP7801, AP7900 or equivalent allows you to remotely power cycle a device
