Title: r9 290x only 500khash? Post by: CoinPN on January 06, 2014, 10:05:02 PM turning on my cgi miner for 1 minute and the card get's heated up to 80C instantly. And it's only running on 550khash?
sapphire version, no overclock, 450w psu and good running fans. -gpu-platform 0 -d 0 -w 256 -v 1 -I 13 -g 2 -l 1 -T --thread-concurrency 11264 Title: Re: r9 290x only 500khash? Post by: Tenchi on January 06, 2014, 10:16:54 PM your thread-currency is a way too low for your 290x.
here is a list of cgminer examples for r9 290 & r9 290x http://www.overclock.net/t/1437876/290-and-290x-litecoin-mining-performance Title: Re: r9 290x only 500khash? Remember to use these commands before you run CGMiner:export DISPLAY=:0 export GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT=100 export GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS=1 Then ramp your TC up as high as it will go. You will crash your driver/computer a few times, but once you dial it in, it's fine. Title: Re: r9 290x only 500khash? Post by: tacotime on January 07, 2014, 05:14:33 AM Those are the low usage settings from guiminer-scrypt. You can use high usage, but >90C is dangerously hot. You need to turn down your card voltages and adjust your card clocks.
guiminer-scrypt also includes the latest cgminer version, so you should get the same speeds in it you do with cgminer itself. Title: Re: r9 290x only 500khash? Post by: Illusmare on January 07, 2014, 05:27:33 AM AMD support has stated that 95C is no issue for the R9 290/290X so I wouldn't be too worried about the heat. My 290 ran at 96C when mining at 820kH/s and had no problems except a damn loud fan. ::)
Now it's watercooled and running at 65C on full load. And use 1 GPU thread in the settings, not 2. But with intensity 13 that kH/s is normal. |
