Title: solidcoin24 Exchange - No fees, full trading API
Post by: enlightened on August 30, 2011, 02:16:54 PM
Hello! I've been watching the forums for a while now but this is my first post here.

I just released my own Bitcoin <-> Solidcoin exchange with currently no fees (and this won't change the next weeks).

The first 5 who register will get a free 5 Solidcoins on the exchange, the next 50 will get one free SLC on the exchange to toy with.

Here's the link: www.solidcoin24.com (http://www.solidcoin24.com)

SSL certificate and API will come soon. Are there now.

The website you're advertising is flagged with an invalid certificate.

Yes I am sorry about that. You can also access it without SSL at the moment (http://mysolidcoin.com/p/main/start.htm (http://mysolidcoin.com/p/main/start.htm)).
SSL certificate will come soon.

You should also prove that we can trust you; otherwise you might just take everyone's deposits.

I know. Any suggestions?

Just try it out with very small amounts. Placing your first order will be free anyway with your free welcome SLC.

Nice job on the web site.  Looking forward to seeing the API.

Groovy design on the site.  It's got to be tough starting something like that to earn people's trust.  Solidcoin seems to be getting a lot of attention.  That's Mooncoin, bitparking, Yourself and Ruxum later this week.
You might want to reword "It is save, since the whole trading is done automatically by our servers" to something like "It is safe since all of the trading is done automatically by our servers".  Good luck.

Thanks!
I corrected the typo.

Here's the forum post in the Solidcoin forum with a feature list and some plans I have:
http://solidcointalk.org/topic/69-mysolidcoin-exchange-no-fees/ (http://solidcointalk.org/topic/69-mysolidcoin-exchange-no-fees/)

The market data part of the API is ready now, too:
http://mysolidcoin.com/p/main/api.htm (http://mysolidcoin.com/p/main/api.htm)

The SSL certificate should be there tomorrow or in 2 days at the latest. I hope this will make the site a bit more trustworthy.

I am glad to announce that the API is finally ready.
You can create offers, cancel offers, look up your balance and more via the new API. However, withdrawing and depositing has to be done manually (this might change in the future).
So, don't hesitate and start automatic trading without fees now ;)

Here's the documentation:
http://mysolidcoin.com/p/main/api.htm (http://mysolidcoin.com/p/main/api.htm)

You get 1000 api calls per hour. I think this should be enough. After that you will receive a message telling you how long it will take until you get another 1000 api calls.

But truthfully, what's the point? Aren't they the same as bitcoins???

Of course Solidcoins are not as revolutionary as Bitcoins were, but they have a number of advantages (see solidcoin.info (http://solidcoin.info)).

I think I'll stick with Bitcoins and the trusty US dollar. I don't like change :P

Great idea, though. And it looks like a lot of hard work went into creating this and trying to address and fix the problems with Bitcoins.
