What is CurrencyRanks?

We are a non-profit organization that: Tracks, Monitors and Ranks Digital Currencies.


Why?

Have you ever wasted your electricity on a coin that was just all hype or a pump and dump scheme? Lost your money in a IPO, investment scam? Not enough transparency or who's behind the project?

Every-day 10-100 Alt-coins are launched, some even claiming to be the next bitcoin. We are here to open the gate and see who's behind it. Digging in deep and giving (You) the investors and miners the most information possible about alternative coins.


This site will include features such-as:

1) A 1-100 ranking system.
2) DigitalCurrency Foundation stamp of approvals
3) Full-blown articles, specs and information about every new and old Crypto-currency.
4) Watchdog list, what safe and what's a scam
5) User-interaction and forums.

And a lot more to be announced.


Currently, i'm looking for some people to employ. If your interested in this project PM ME.

Some skills i'm looking for:

1) Logo and graphic designer
2) Forum watchdogs
3) Researcher, scan the net for all the latest and newest alt-coins
4) Daily blogger / News writter
5) A second hand in creating the website.

Notes:

A) I'm going to start a funding on Bitcoinstarter with detailed information..etc when i have enough transparency to get funded.

B) This is just a public announcement, and the project is currently in progress. We will be launching a new site within the next couple of weeks.

I'm not here to do an IPO or beg. But i just need enough to pay for the site and some security measures. Pm me if you want to be a donor, maybe we can work something out.

It's not available yet. Still a work a progress. Just getting thoughts and seeing if there is interest in such a site.

I believe it is a nice idea and newcomers actually need it. But i am afraid of abuse. For example Doge, EAC etc are here for the hype and nothing stops them to vote as they want. If actually you will have voting.

Also there is the questions of who decides what is good and what isnt? Why premine is bad or good? Or how much of it?

Which coin is a scam or not? Some cases are clear but others not so much.

I'm a webdev and I was thinking to a similar platform since actually pretty difficult follow all those damn altcoins.
A consideration about the point 3 (researcher): IHMO there's no need to scan for a coin... it's a wasteful task,instead the service itself must be userful enough to attract the coin developer to add info about their coin.

I still would like to build that sort of webapp  (that would make sort of competitor  :o) but probably I'll never find enough spare time to work on it (lucky you  ;D )

Right, as the site grows it could be just good exposure for alt-coins. So we can have people submit their article to us.

The project promises to be interesting. Novices also need a chance. Anyway, so that the projects would be carefully selected and the scam devs would have no chance.
