Title: Feeling a Bit Lucky? 100% payout lottery, no minimum entry, 2.00 BTC giveaway!
Post by: BitLucky on August 30, 2011, 07:30:19 PM
Introducing... BitLucky.org (http://www.bitlucky.org)

A new Bitcoin lottery with no minimum entry price (well, 1 Satoshi  8)) and no fees!

  • The first draw will take place on: Friday 9th Sept. at 23:59 UTC/GMT (18:59 ET)
  • The prize pool is currently: 1.6547505 BTC (~$13.07)
  • The week 1 address is: 11epCFzxymwbbz4Qae1rtgYdn1M9WEkv4 (http://blockexplorer.com/address/11epCFzxymwbbz4Qae1rtgYdn1M9WEkv4)

The first 10 people to enter the lottery will receive 0.2 BTC as a thank-you  :) (please post in the forum to confirm when you have entered)

You must send funds using the Bitcoin client (not an eWallet) so that prizes can be returned to you!

Why no fees?
The costs involved are too small to warrant taking a percentage of the prize pool  :) Hopefully donations will cover the small costs involved with hosting the domain and updating the site.

How do you select a winner?
The total prize pool (in Satoshi's) is used as the number of "tickets". A ticket is selected at random using Dice Hash (http://bitlucky.org/dicehash.html) and the USA Lottery numbers as the random seed.

How much does the winner get?
The winner gets the entire prize pool. It is sent back to the address that they used to enter the lottery with (hence the need to use the Bitcoin client and not an eWallet!). In future draws the prize pool may be distributed to more people. This would be announced before the draw takes place.

This is all great, how do I enter?
Using the Bitcoin client, send the amount of Bitcoins that you wish to gamble with to the address for that week (p.s. the week 1 address is 11epCFzxymwbbz4Qae1rtgYdn1M9WEkv4). The more Bitcoins you send, the higher your chance of winning!

If you have any questions please fire away and good luck  :)

-John

It certainly looks great  :) Do you take a % from the prize pool? A bit of competition never hurt anybody  ;D I like your countdown timer... may add that feature to my site if you don't mind :P

the first 5 rounds were 100% payback, but now i removed the smallpot, put up the jackpot, added instant wins and a rolling jackpot. i guess its still 100% payback though.

sure have the count down timer. its not mine anyway

You can send the 0.2 back to the address I sent from (14yTB7UpBAxDVEnQP2YL5f9TuQtWBpKMCy).

Would seem to me your best bet is to send to the first 10 addresses you receive from - as otherwise you have no way of knowing whether people who claim to have sent actually did.

I think it's important to note that the current official bitcoin client doesn't allow the user to choose which addresses your transactions come from. That's why that data isn't available when you look at the transaction details in your client. Often no one address in your wallet will have a large enough balance to cover a transaction, so the BTC will be debited from multiple. If you send the BTC to whatever shows up on blockexplorer, if the sender is using their own client, then they will receive the BTC.

I just invested 0.1337 BTC into this lottery and you can send the bounty to whatever shows up in blockexplorer. :)

Thanks for playing - I have sent you 0.2 BTC :)

I will only send payments back to the address Blockexplorer gives. It would be helpful if people could post when they have entered so that (for the first few draws at least) the winner can be identified.
