I've always long suspected this was the case happening on this forum. If you aren't familiar with them here is what I'm talking about:

They are "trolls" who troll each other  regarding funny shit and the like but they once in awhile take up causes that attack other people as we've seen today. I think there should something on a "users status"  on this forum that signals the member is associated with SA ( as we do with scammer labels) so other forum members know who they are dealing with ( in a good or bad way ). If this isn't done I think we are setting a bad precedence for the future of this forum and yes Bitcoin in general. At the very least create a sticky that lets people know who are current forum members and their affiliation to this group.

I know making such a request will bring them out in full force but it's a risk I'm willing to take  ;D

No, we should all be thanking SA!!!  THEY did all the due diligence on Bruce Wagner that none of us ever did.

We may not like what they found, but don't shoot the messenger!  Many people are crying "witch-hunt," but if you actually take the time to read all of the information they've dug up (http://www.freezepage.com/pub/U737985/BruceWagner), you'll see that there are many, many issues that make Bruce Wagner appear to be a serial fraudster.

What really disgusts me, is the heavy handed censorship that is now taking place, burying all the Bruce Wagner articles and deleting the rest.  Not that it has had much credibility in the last few weeks anyway, but bitcointalk is now pretty much a seething pile of fraud and scammers, and any real discussion or dissent is immediately wiped out.  Sad, really.  Whatever happened to the "free-market" and "libertarian ideals?"  

If anyone at SA is reading this, I'd be happy to donate some money to your forums.  Of course, only if you accept bitcoins!

Spam and trolling Differing opinions and dissent will continue to be removed, but it is not a crime to come here from SA, merely shameful and embarrassing. Hey, we tried to throw you guys a line on Matt Wright and Bruce being horrible scammers ruining the community, but you chose to whitewash the forums...

I love how many of the most prolific bitcoin backers, who one would think support free speech, call anyone who disagrees with them some combination of a 13-year-old child, an idiot, or a troll.  It's the perfect way to shut down a conversation without having to actually respond to the message.

Sure, there are SA trolls in this forum.  There are also people from SA who think bitcoin as an idea is nice, but that the community is being overrun with scammers preying on idealistic libertarians.  You may disagree with their methods, but I defy anyone to say that scams aren't a huge problem right now.

Speaking as a lurker on both forums- sure, some of the SA posters can get a little...hyperbolic.  The same can be said about posters here (does anyone really believe that Matthew Wright has 30 business correspondents who are anonymous and have never posted anything on a bitcoin forum?)  But that's not at all the same as saying anyone who dissents with popular opinion is a troll.  Skepticism is a sign of a healthy, inquisitive mind- and I have to say, I see a lot more of it over on Something Awful than I do over here.

It's not the fact that the Bitcoin community disagrees with you, it's the way you guys have conducted yourselves in portraying your opinions, by inflicting damage on anyone who has an opposing view. I can tell you right now that MANY people in this forum disagree with my ideology (as it matches a much more Liberal perspective) but they still respect me, and I respect them because it's the common courtesy that we owe to each other as human beings.

So, just to be clear, did we plan this back in 2005 and forge a bunch of court records, news articles, obvious username/e-mail connections, and posts?  I'll be the first to say the pedophile stuff isn't very solid and is only heavily implied.  The mortgage fraud, among some of the more recent court cases that are showing up, are extremely easy to follow back to him, though.  If you seriously can't follow the obvious connections that have been posted then you might want to turn off your mining rig when you sleep, because you may be developing brain damage.

Considering most of what they've found comes straight from the horses mouth or from court records (where rulings or convictions have been made), they don't have to do the convicting - just present it and let it speak for itself.

Check my posting history - I've never advocated the whole pedophile thing, it's all just based on theory and conjecture. There is a problem with Bruce going crazy over Pattaya and involving Bitcoin, not letting the community know that he had other interests instead of Bitcoin at heart when he started this whole Pattaya thing. So SA was out of line with that, even though it looks very, very strange.

Now there's the fraud and other assorted stuff, which in my opinion is much more damning because it's inescapable.

I don't feel like going back through all your posts, but I think it's probably not completely outlandish to say I've probably contributed more real good to this forum than you have... because I don't join in the masturbatory group-think that you seem to think is what normal business people do.

I come here to view the bitcointalk community as a whole, where I see tons of Alex-Jonesy threads, see a bunch of people who advocate for a 'freer market', only to later get screwed by lack of regulation before coming up with 'ideas' on how to prevent it from happening again (which closely resemble modern finance regulations), and to berate people who seem intent on using the medium of Bitcoin to scam other users, their family and friends, and other strangers.

I don't know how to make a better system, I really don't. I do know that a deflationary currency and free market 'ideals' will only re-create our current corrupt system, but probably actually make it more corrupt. The only reason I ever hounded you was: A) It angered me that you, like many others here, have an inability to take negative criticisms over their ideas and instead lash out at those who try to help, especially if you are being misogynistic, racist, or whatever; and B) Because you never took advice on the problems with Tweetforum but instead started spamming it everywhere on here instead, when in actuality smashing together two services, especially two with very different purposes together, is not a novel or even useful idea. If you have to pay people to use it, it probably isn't worth using.

Do I think Bitcoin is the ultimate solution? No one knows that yet, NOT EVEN YOU. There has never been a "deflationary" currency of this magnitude before, so I don't even feel right comparing it to gold anymore.
Now if you don't respect the economic ideology behind Bitcoin, you should at-least respect the tech behind it. The technology is very powerful, intuitive, and should not be disregarded as some "high school project" like so many in SA do on a constant basis.

That's a little unfair - Bitcoin's only actually had any real dollar value at all for a bit over a year now (I think?) and the whole project isn't old enough to even say "all these years" about it.

There's also quite a good little economy going, in spite of all the speculators fucking everyone over and turning selling something for Bitcoin into a game of musical chairs. It's not as huge as people might like to make out, and it's definitely not big enough to sustain the current prices if all the speculators went away, but it is there.

Also I'm guessing SA's forum only quotes the last person - you think you guys could trim your quotes up? It's getting all responding-to-mailing-list-digest up in this bitch (I realize it's not all SA people who quote 3/4s of the thread, but every little bit helps and at least if every second person does it it won't be so long).
