Hello guys, I am new to this forum. I want to know what is ERC-20 token and what relation it has with Ethereum.

ERC20 tokens are created on the Ethereum blockchain.  They utilize smart contracts.  If you create your own ERC20 token and say call it, HuntingBTC5 Token, it will have the same address that you use to receive Eth with.  Your wallet needs to be set up to see these tokens though.  Upside is it gives anyone the ability to create their own token.  Downside is it gives anyone the ability to create their own tokens.

It's only fair and polite since you expect people to answer you and spend their time with - in this case - basic knowledge.

At the mention of ERC20 Token, what comes to mind is ETHERUM. It simply denotes they belong to the same family with Etherum, built on the same blockchain.

I believe you have understand ERC 20 from above comments. Comments just want to share the ERC 20is mostly used for the smart contract.

You don't have to know any technical details about them, just remember that you can store them in MyEtherWallet together with you ETH, but you shouldn't send them to your ETH exchange account. That way you will be safe.

All i know about erc20 is a wallet which can receive token based on erc20. Most of token is using erc20 as smart contract. and they ( That token ) is using the same erc20 address for it, so you don't need to create different address. Sorry for bad explanation :D

I dont know what is the exact purpose of ERC 20 but the only i know is ERC wallet is used when you registering one of the bounty campaigns form and you need to put it in registration if ever the ico succeed this is the only wallet that you might can give when their send their bounty payments.

Why don't you search it out on Google before creating this topic? I think it's already available on the interenet and you can easily find it out :). You can understand easily that ERC20 token is token created depend on blockchain of ETH. These tokens don't have its own blockchain so you need to use ETH explorer to track transaction of these tokens :)

Honestly speaking i have not enough idea about ERC20 tokens. As far as i know it is connected with ethereum. I think peoples get valuable information there.

Kinda trying to understand everything behind Ethereum. With the popularity of ERC20 Tokens especially within upcoming ICOs, does this not reflect that the Ethereum Blockchain tech is the tech that most coins will be moving on to since its use of smart contract tech and that ETH is probably the most stable future coin or tech? Also which type of wallet is connected to holding ERC20 tokens?

Then better create ERC23 tokens, as they are way superior to ERC20 but also backwards compatible.

Erc 20 is just an Ethereum blockchain based compatible wallet. Wallets of such could be Metamask, IM Token, MEW, EIDOO etc. These are all ERC 20 Compatible wallets.
