Title: The most crypto-friendly and unfriendly countries
Post by: katelynsk on May 20, 2018, 06:02:38 PM
According to the researches, the most crypto-friendly European countries are Switzerland, Gibraltar, Malta, United Kingdom, Denmark, Germany, Sweden, Portugal, The Netherlands, Finland, Belarus, Estonia, Slovenia, Georgia. Speaking of all such countries in the world, we should add to this list Japan, Singapore, Mauritius, Australia. The most unfriendly for cryptocurrencies are China, Mexico, Algeria, Morocco, Bolivia. The lists can be continued.

The ratings are generated with the following criteria:
Regulation of lCOs:
Regulation of cгyptocurrencies
Taxation regime, capital gain

How do you think these inequality and stratification will affect the further development and relations between countries? Can you influence the policy of your state regarding the crypto currency, and if so, how would you change it?

First of all, I think you need to be more specific about your criteria. I mean, you shared a list, but it is not explained how is those countrie's attitude towards the enlisted topics. For instance, are they regulating ICO's or not?  If they are regulating them, do you think this to be the better attitude or a bad one?

Your final question is truly interesting, but I'm afraid I cannot give my point of view if I don't fully understand what are you trying to explain!

I think that you have missed Japan in the list of crypto friendly countries and Bangladesh,bolivia,equador and Kyrgyzstan in the list of crypto unfriendly countries.We could see that among the unfriendly countries,most of them are economically small.Such smaller economic countries might fear that they would not be able to control if they allow bitcoin. Hello, just if someone is interested in "crypto-friendly" situation in Belarus (I doubt) I can clarify things in my point of view. There was a law issued in December 2017 and now we have:

- Cryptocurrencies are legalized
- The mining of cryptocurrencies is legal tax-free till 2023 (even for individuals);
- There were some mining "hotels" created and working legally where you can store your miners for fix price (about 15$/month per rig + 0.12-0.14$ for Kwt/h);
- The operations and trade profits with tokens are tax-free till 2023 (or further notifications);
- The emission (i.e issue) of new tokes for companies and individuals is illegal because there is no law what can regulate it;
- There are no any legal ways to exchange cryptocurrencies for fiat money (still no exchanges);
- There are no any sane clarifications to the issued laws and nobody knows what to do in general and how to use these laws.

You can ask if you want to know some more info.
Thanks.

First of all, I think you need to be more specific about your criteria.

I came across one article here (https://cointelegraph.com/news/switzerland-first-in-ranking-of-top-10-most-blockchain-friendly-countries-in-europe), after which I became interested in this topic – about the support and prohibition of blockchain technologies in different countries, and what role this may play in the future.

I did not aim to give a complete list of these countries or a detailed description of their policies regarding ICO, since it seemed to me there're enough such articles on the Internet, and I don't want to repeat them.

Thanks, as I have mentioned, the list may be expanded. Moreover, while I am writing this message, some country is probably reviewing its policy regarding ICOs :)

Speaking of all such countries in the world, we should add to this list Japan, Singapore, Mauritius, Australia. The most unfriendly for cryptocurrencies are China, Mexico, Algeria, Morocco, Bolivia. The lists can be continued.

Yes, the attitude to cryptocurrency can affect economic relations between countries, different views on this issue can add to serious consequences, perhaps even economic war .

There will always be people that will disagree and agree to different types of things. This makes
things complicated for us crypto enthusiasts because they just won't allow people to make cryptos
legal. I think that the only choice we have is to push regulation because that I think really be able
to push mass adoption.

the ranking seems very wrong to me and checking their website through the cointelegraph link you posted below, it looks to me that they are basically saying Switzerland is #1 because it has ethereum foundation in it. and as for China as the worst, that is obviously wrong. there are at least 3 countries that have banned bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies and 1 (Bangladesh if i am not mistaken) which will imprison anyone who uses them. such countries are a lot more unfriendly than China that sees bitcoin as a legal thing!!!

It is good to see that there already several countries that are friendly and accepts bitcoin. But even though there were many who uses and accepts bitcoin it is a big question why bitcoins value keeps on falling down. Anyway I want to add to the list of the bitcoin friendly countries the Philippines, another country in Asia where bitcoin is also blooming.

I don't blame unfriendly countries if they against or not accepting Bitcoin wholeheartedly since they have their reasons like threat to the government, I'm not saying the Bitcoin is a threat but how does their people use it in some black negotiations and use of it to buy weapons untracked... (the transaction can be seen but the people who own sometimes no)

Yep, I do find this ranking a bit uninformed too. Mexico, for instance, is taking a path towards acceptation, but it appears on the "negative" list...
This is not informed enough to answer the OP question, I'm afraid, but, given this is just an opinion, I think the aims about crypto regulations are not going to influence international relationships in any way, at least, as well as the crypto use is not mainstream.
We are into crypto, but we are still few. As well as more people begin to use it, I think there are going to emerge some international agreements.

In the other hand, we have the exchanges' problems. Some countries, like Russia or the US are starting to ask them for personal users data. It, of course, can make people moving into another one and use other services from China, for instance. But, what happens if, for example, the US government ask for this exchange to share their data for some reason and they don't have any, can it be an international problem? Some Us exchanges are starting to ask their users for an official ID, along with the place of residence, the phone number and also a personal photo of their faces, recently taken. Indeed, other ones also ask the user to download a facial recognition program, so they can scan their face. Of course, it is making users moving into another exchange, but how is going to be the US and Russian attitude towards those exchanges that don't fulfill the requirements they find to be obligatory?

I add 1 again, that venezuela has become part of a friendly country with crypto.

I think inequality will not affect the diplomatic relations between them. they can manage and control crypto, because every country has a different policy on crypto. but the world needs to create a crypto regulation to unite diplomacy between countries.

I can not influence my country policy, but at least I have contributed well to crypto by adopting crypto in my life, and also by spreading crypto to the public.

At any rate I need to add to the rundown of the bitcoin well disposed nations the Philippines, another nation in Asia where bitcoin is likewise sprouting.

Yep, good information. The countries which are not friendly as of now is just thinking or set up a committee to understand about crypto and the regulations I think. Within another 5 to 6 years all the countries will accept crypto and there won't be any fiat currency in the world. There are countries which are yet to decide about crypto acceptance within this June I believe.

1.Switzerland
2.Japan
3.United Kingdom
4.Netherlands
5.Denmark
All of the above crypto-friendly nations offer different benefits for individuals and organizations working or investing in the developing blockchain ecosystem. One common factor shared across pro-crypto nations, however, is the proactive formation of self-regulating communities or organizations that are attempting to guide the development of crypto regulation in a positive direction.
With alliances such as CryptoUK, the Dutch Blockchain Coalition, and Japan’s new self-regulatory organization, the crypto industry as a whole is stepping forward to assist foundering regulatory arms in keeping abreast of the blockchain ecosystem.

Your list is very correct. Most of the countries that do not welcome Bitcoin are very tightly regulated economies, fearing that de-centralization would undermine their power. I have confidence in the development of encryption in Japan.

From the list i can know that many countries are cryptocurrency friendly huh? Never knew that much before, only like us, japan, switzerland. I mostly know about those unfriendly country, and sad to say most of them are asian country, like my country.
I think it might affect in the crypto development, since it means that crypto will only be able to develop in those friendly country, who might legalized and support it. But i don't think it might affect the relation between those country, since each country has their own regulation, and as long as it don't give disadvantage to each other, they wouldn't mind.
And if the government already oppose cryptocurrency and maybe ban it, it might be hard to do anything that can change the regulation. I think the unfriendly county will remain unfriendly, unless suddenly they have a change in mind and choose to accept crypto.

i think that powerful countries (European countries for example) don't consider bitcoin as a threat to their economy unlike china and USA where bitcoin will be a disaster to their currency value.

Among the unfriendly list I would say China, because it is a major contributor to cryptocurrency years back and if it provided with similar support now we could've reached a massive growth than the present.

I think this depends on the response of the people of a country to the crypto world, meaning that society has an important role to play in creating a crypto development with support from the government.

different stratification will not affect relations between countries, because crypto value standards are crypto markets, and they agree. I am not a diplomat who can negotiate with the government. but I have a crypto community that will slowly make the government aware that crypto is the solution to changing the country's economy to be better..

I only praise the development of cryptocurrency in Japan, they accept both the government and the people where Japanese technology is the most superior, always bring up something different and break the biggest technology market, so they also adopt Bitcoin well and correctly according to the beginning of the Bitcoin Principle as a digital currency, it is not surprising that in some time Japan can lift individual and state economics, the most important security so as to provide comfort for every cryptocurrency user, because some countries cannot be said to be as friendly as Japan, there are still many conflicts that have occurred, not adopted themselves thorough.

It's not totally ready. Because in some countries crypto is accepted. Some countries do not use crypto. The government has not approved it. In most countries, they deal with crypto today. It's popular in the world. These countries also run businesses through various companies. In every country, crypto is not accepted. But some countries have approved it. The more the investors grow in the future, the world welcomes it. You do not have to be afraid. Because crypto will not be lost. It is spread throughout the entire period. All of you invest here.

I doubt that the current situation in Bitcoin regulation may in any way affect relations between countries. Cryptocurrencies still have the smallest financial influence in the world and so far have very little weight in the economies of even the most liberal cryptocurrency countries. It is difficult to say what further it will be, but if cryptocurrencies really can occupy a significant niche in international trade, I am sure that the regulators of different countries will develop mechanisms for interaction and calculations in Bitcoin or other currencies.

While developed countries like US, and Japan have been crypto-friendly  Bangladesh government have been banned the use of crypto's and if anyone trades with Bitcoin will be put to jail .Like wise Bolivia,Egypt,are been unfriendly towards crypto using, Bolivia was the first to stop the usage of cryptocurrency they informs that those who do not use government controlled centralized currency should be punished by other means . The  Egyptian government considered crypto as exchange of gambling since gambling is forbidden for that country .The Estonia government embraces the modern technology like block chain  so they welcome crypto currency towards their country .The United State has a numerous amount of crypto users in the world and even there are several ATM's at US .Then comes  Denmark  one of  the most developed countries in technologies .

and nope, i have no influence to change the current crypto regulations in my country. but fortunately, i'm residing in a more acceptable community.

I can't imagine how bitcoin will be able to complete all this transactions with high fee,slow speed.  Using crypto in daily life will be solution to traditional way that  we used as payment methods. ICO everywhere is not right idea in my opinion. There are various projects which can bring solution to this mentioned problems.

To be fair, most of these countries are not against Bitcoin, but rather against scam ICOs and/or Pump n dump Alt coins. They have a obligation towards their citizens to protect them against technologies and projects that might exploit them.

There are some countries that are protecting their local economy and reserve currency and even some corrupt governments that wants to prevent technology to give people 100% financial freedom and anonymity.  >:(
