Title: An open source multi-wallet, multi-cryptocurrencies, multi-platform application
Post by: ikevin8me on January 08, 2014, 05:01:56 PM
Hi, we'd like to announce that I'm developing a multi-cryptocurrency, multi-wallet application based on JavaFX. It will run on OS X, Windows, Linux and UNIX.

The initial goal is to implement for Bitcoin and Litecoin as Simplified Payment Verification (SPV) clients. Additional cryptocurrencies (ie. altcoins) will be considered for implementation either as full or SPV clients, though the latter is generally preferred. The goal is to have a unified application that serves as a platform to quickly incorporate new altcoins as they are introduced to the market.

As new altcoins are introduced...
The first strategy is to develop an SPV implementation in Java. Either the creator/developers of the new altcoin can do this, or we will implement it (depending on demand and funding). If SPV implementation is not possible, we can compile the source code in C and integrate it by executing system process from Java code.  The goal is to have a platform to quickly incorporate new altcoins for as many operating systems as possible (ie. being on JavaFX works across many computing platforms).

The description of the project is available here:

(Screenshots of the application mockup are also on the Wiki page.)

Very, very, cool! Another user, who doesn't hate java! I'm excited!

I also write trading stuff in java.

Maybe you could join forces with the openbitcointrader project?

Could you tell me more about your openbitcointrader project? Is it the same as cryptocoin-tradelib?

No. Openbitcointrader was meant as a opensource trading app. I wanted (and still want) to support this project and donated some sources. I work on a bot framework and released some of my API implementations as a lib, so the trading app doesn't have to replicate this work. I'm also willing to release some of my UI stuff later, if the opensource trading app could use them.

Please post more info here (or the links) when they are available.

I would add them to the lib then, I guess. See the link in my earlier posting.

I actually like the idea, it would be quite handy to store all your crtypto coins at one place and manage them for there. But OP's site is no more and project page is also gone.
So maybe someone should start working on this now and develop this project?
