Title: Anyone ever tried using the gfx chips from console systems to mine? Post by: OneEyedJack on January 08, 2014, 05:08:34 PM I know that these consoles have some pretty decent gfx hardware. Has anyone ever tried to reuse some of their parts for mining purposes?
Just curious Title: Re: Anyone ever tried using the gfx chips from console systems to mine? Post by: MiningBuddy on January 08, 2014, 05:38:32 PM It's a waste of time really, a ps3 will get you around 10MH/s.
I'm not sure about the next gen consoles, maybe someone more clued up can chime in but I can't imagine those being worth the time either. Post by: OneEyedJack on January 08, 2014, 06:30:36 PM I can understand the low hashrate would be horrible for BTC, but what about the altcoins?
Heck it beats using a 180.0k hash rate for mining. Title: Re: Anyone ever tried using the gfx chips from console systems to mine? This is the bitcoin section, I do not care for altcoins.
