Hey guys, Coinye's main guy here. I've never actually come here and posted, I was letting someone else run this account, as I was incredibly busy.

We made a mistake by spreading out the work too thin. Also, I think the 0.37% percent split premine between the devs was too much. I thought because of the hype, that it'd be okay.

I'd like to clarify something, though - I didn't even get a chance to mine my own coin at launch. I ordered a couple 7970s from tigerdirect in preparation, and they didn't get the motherboard to me in time. So about 15 mins before launch i powered down my desktop and tried to stick one of the new cards in there to replace my r270, but it wouldnt fit. I'm not sure who mined those 2b coins in the first few minutes (http://coinyechain.info/chain/Coinyecoin), but it was probably one of the pools we gave the source to a few mins early.

We put the download link up and within 3-5 seconds the entire site and the mirrors we had going all been hammered out of existence. I resized all the secondard cloud instances to 4 times their size. Because of that, I shut down the official pool. I mined on yepool.pw for a few minutes, and when I checked it again, it was dead. I kept switching pools and they all kept going down. I think I mined about 12,000 coins overnight, with my single midrange card.

Anyway. So far we have the crazy media hype, a list of 6,000 email subscribers I haven't had time to contact, and two casino games at:

We also have a guy from the IRC doing in person interviews at BBC radio saturday, and I have some more email interviews this weekend.

We're still working on the coinyeminer thing - we couldnt get it done in time. When that hits, I can email all the subscribers and hopefully get a lot of new people on board.

So, my reason for this post is, I want to give out like half of what I have, and I'm going to ask the other devs to consider doing the same.

I want to give away 50 million COYE to improve this coin. I'd like to do bounties, lotteries, drawings, promotions, and give some to the general public. I hope we will get on an exchange.

About media aspect, it's already done more (lawsuit), than anything you can throw (promote) on media list.

the single most common thing i've seen on these forums are folks saying it'll never hit an exchange due to the legal issues with it.  to me, you've made enough modifications to coinye that circumvents all that and though it resembles something to kanye's likeness, it in fact isn't.  coinye is more southpark/gayfish inspired then anything at this point haha

convincing coinholders/exchanges of this should allow coinye to gain a lot more traction

oh and some blackjack coinye would be awesome.

It's been late. But you are up with the mark.

1. Promotion is most important for any crypto coin.
a. Giveaways are ok, however, it will not only help.
b. Encourage people to use coye. Make it an important one in crypto. Brainstorm will help.
c. Add coye to exchanges as fast as possible. Without coin being traded in exchanges, there will be no or little investors.

2. Let people to write/create/design/code for you. [Again, giveaways only will help]

3. Take time and give a write up about explaining the purpose, need of the coin from yourside like What made you to think and create this coin? People with similar idea will join you.

4. Make a comparative study with btc, ltc and other coins on the race with coye. Prepare one whitepaper for each coin and find out how such coins evolve from the basic stage?

Seriously, the ONLY thing that matters right now is getting it on a exchange.  After that you can worry about everything else. People won't use a coin that there is no exchange for.  Yes you can send it from one person to another.  But lets be honest here, most of the miners who are throwing all this power to the network want money/another coin.  If their is no way for them to do that, people take their hashing power elsewhere and the coin loses credibility because there is no one is mining it.  It is kinda the chicken and egg issue.

Start guestposting on those huge news site. Ask(bribe *cough*) those editors to post more articles about coinye, there's atleast a couple country based news site that has decent local traffic. You already have a few from theverge and etc, start picking up those big boys news site and eventually those smaller mid sized sites will pick it up, since they mostly rely on those authority sites for content more exposure more buzz. Get buzzbundle and have someone sit over it and reply to brand alerts, it will probably attract conversations which leads to more exposure to the brand. This is your take on it as a miner, but as a business, would say, Cryptsy risk the legal troubles that could follow for including this coin? Even if it if wasn't infringing any copyright or whatnot, it will depend on how Kanye's lawyers argue their case, in other words, we won't know if Kanye's lawyers will do anything about it, and if they do decide do, then it will be in another world of trouble. The lawyers may not be able to get their hands on the creator but like it said in the letter,  "legal actions will be taken against any business that adopt Coinye as form of payment", hmmm makes me wonder if it is worth it from a business point of view.

Coinye Can only succeed if you make it for the masses like your originally did.
I know the legal trouble really screwed you over and didn't let you launch how it was supposed to be but we got over that (kinda, lol. Worst Pools I've seen)

1. Create an attractive game, maybe a facebook one, which is not a gambling type but with a theme of self competition, adventure or multiplay. The key here is : none gambling, attractive... current news stories should carry on to other things related to coinye distracting common people from the law affairs... You should dump some of your coinye storage here as rewards to people. Rewards should either be distributed unevenly but in multiplied fashion so that there is a big stake for someone or evenly so that much more people get their hands full.

2. Or make a deal with someone/some entity that have a game dealing with internal points / cash mechanism. Hand him the coinyes so that he can distribute them to game players. Just play off the southpark jokes and you should be able to get alot of attention. The media attention right now is really good. I just downloaded my client but haven't gotten it synced to a pool yet. Maybe if you made an ad for coinye west by using parts of the southpark episode. Make him say stuff promiting his coin and make a catchy jingle/song to go behind it and then all of a sudden coinyewest is viral!!!

Start from giving away coins for everyone (smaller amounts) and for helping spread the word about it (bigger), doing small tasks like twitter posts, blogposts etc. Make some funny contests with memes on topic etc.

Next start speaking with the exchanges, or just encourage people to vote @ their feature request lists by offering some bonuses.

When you will have at least one (and not the smallest)) exchange trading COYE, you should start negociating with payment processors, accepting alternative cryptocoins (there is at least one in this forum). This will bring you merchants - it will be far more easier for them to accept good old USD from processor for their goods or services, even bitcoins are usually not accepted without intermediaries.

- This coin has something in common with doge - a lot of publicity outside the regular crypto channels.  Like doge this will attract a lot of new people to find out what the fuss is about so make your coin as noob friendly as possible.  Including the conf file with the wallet was a great idea, but maybe also include a readme on where to put it and maybe some basic (ie for people who know nothing about mining/crypto) instructions on how to start mining it etc.

- still along the noob theme.. a lot of these new people wont have any specialist mining setups so are going to struggle to actually get any of your coin.  you want them involved and bought in as they will probably be the core of your community after all the speculators have pumped and dumped. The reality is these people arent going to invest in mining hardware unless they can see a reason to. So maybe start an official pool, use the pool fees and part of the premine to subsidise these low hash people so they actually get a  bit of coin to play with and see how the whole crypto thing works, I dont know if you could script it, but once a day review the people in the pool who had a hash rate of say less than 75khs for example and send their wallets the same amount they mined for the day, at that hashrate they arent making crazy money thats impossible to match from pool fees but what you are doing is creating a point of difference - no one else looks out for the little guys just starting out and you are giving them a reason to use and promote your coin because they actually have some.  Obviously you cant do that forever but you wont need to once new people can see a benefit to them in having better equipment they'll buy it, but noone is buying $500 video cards for a quick experiment to see if something works.

- approach a decent exchange and work to get the coin listed.  you dont have to pay anyone - moon turning up on coinex 12 hrs or so after launch proved that exchange owners can make good money off of a well publicised coin - and thats what you have.  when you look at who to approach dont just think big and famous look for user friendly and helpful - after all this is where all your noobs are going to learn why they should be using your coin the easier you can make that process of all the new people you are bringing in learning how to get and use your coin the more likely they are to stick around and keep your coin alive.

-talk to a payment processor that is willing to deal with altcoins, one example is https://www.coinpayments.net/, their stores accept some or all of the alt currencies they allow, once you have a payment processor its a lot easier to sell businesses on using your coin.

Make a web site, where you can sell things for bid/buy with coinye wests. I had in mind game codes or guides or things like this. I would sell my Humble-bundle with 10 games, worth 100$, which I bought for 5, for example. You definitely want to focus on something online, this is on a global scale. Maybe funny song (now days anything get views - fox song or whats that shit called).
