BUT WHY?

This was by far one of the most anticipated new ALT coin launches to hit the ALT market (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=392465.0 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=392465.0))in the last 2 weeks (maybe excluding bad media attention on *some* coins).  So much so that it attracted HUGE hash rates and spiked the coin's difficulty to a point where transaction times are impossible -- that is, without YOUR hash power!!!

We, as a community of strong GiftCoin supporters have a plan!  It will not be easy, but it WILL pay off!  Goal?  Get us to the next difficulty adjustment.  Create buzz -- overload Reddit, Cryptsy & Coinedup until they listen.

OK, BUT HOW?
1. Set up an account at https://gifts.bettercoin.org (pool is absolutely stabilized after its first unsuccessful run). It's ok if you are biased - and want to go to a different pool.  Find an active, stable one and go at it! EDIT - it has to be bettercoin pool -- otherwise, we'll have no record of existing miners who are supporting the network, regardless of this Pool promotion.

3. Start mining GiftCoins for 24hrs.

4. After 24 hours, send a screenshot of your cgminer screen, where the date is clearly shown, when mining started, your mining speed as well as the number of Accepted & Rejected shares.
 
5. Depending on the speed of your miners, you will receive:

over 100Kh/s – 10 GFT
over 200Kh/s – 20 GFT
over 300Kh/s – 30 GFT
over 400Kh/s – 40 GFT

500Kh/s or more? – Random amt between 50 - 150GFT (that's a COMPLETE BONUS BLOCK per 24HRS!)

EXTRA BONUS?
Post a screenshot of your GFT Wallet balance at the exchange when it gets there.  Once the GFT Coin gets into an exchange, receive 100GFT's (2 blocks) for every 24hrs that you DO NOT SELL.  We will, together, work to tease the market.  Patience will pay off - and the coin will not be killed by 0 BUY ORDERS.

So what happens if I use CUDAminer with no date stamp, and I'm under 100khash/s?  I'm typically at about 81khash/s, and was there on launch day trying to get some coins. Please don't leave people like me out of this.

Great ideas for reviving giftcoin! I'm Using cgminer too. Will the username from any giftcoin pool work or does it have to be a specific pool?

Also how much will I need to hold in my exchange wallet (once its on an exchange) to be eligible for 100 GFT per 24 hrs

That is not yet decided, but will be decided by the community with no shady business.  Weak hands will probably come into play, but we'll see!

Honestly guys -- I am NOT an insider at all.  Just an activist believing that this when carried out properly has potential.  Now, can we get some guesses as to what the big news may be?  The funnier the better!

Are you kidding us? You made a relaunch of a coin that thousands of people mined it and have their wallets full of Giftcoins?
How many times you going to restart this coin? Did the community asked you to relaunch Gift coin?

I did not relaunch the coin!  No forks or source code changes and the coin HAS NOT been restarted once(?) -- I am trying to help revive GFT from its stagnation to attract investment of time, energy & talent to make it what it can feasibly become.  Network has come to a complete crawl and difficulty is too high to make it profitable for anyone to mine the coin.  Think giveaway, except to attract hash rates to get us over this bump in the road.

This is what I have gotten out of Giftcoin so far, I was there at launch, I mined for 5 hours at 3 M/h, got nothing, when the refunds came out, I got 44 coins. This coin is dead to me, it was a complete waste of my electricity and time. The only coin that was worse was Electric coin. I mined for 5 hours there also, have 222000 coins and dev says he is done and gives up on coin, those coins are worthless as well, just like my 44 giftcoins.

You were lucky to get almost a full block with all of the orphans when difficulty was like 0.03 or something and the crazy 8x 40MH/s rigs that came on?

Yes Sir, bounty is real until funds are depleted - currently about 2.1k GFT; however I will update this post to include a random amt between 50 - 150 so this thing doesn't try up so quickly!  You will be on the receiving end of 150, however.

Frustrated! Anyone else find the bettercoin pool to be stuck? Maybe they haven't found a block in 24 hours??

no luck.. 22 hours without a block.. as it seams now I'm only one sending more than 500khs :(
