Title: [WTS] 280x GPUS - Gauging Interest - $50 off retail price unlimited supply
Post by: notaek on January 09, 2014, 12:09:23 AM
How many of you would interested in buying some XFX Double D 280x GPUS for $375 flat in BTC (no tax, just pay shipping)?  They would also each come with a battlefield 4 code that you could use or sell for an extra couple bucks.  This could be a good way to get past the 1 card per person restriction that most websites have on these cards.

I am about to place an order with my supplier and depending on how many responses I will change my order quantity accordingly.  If you decide you want to buy, the cards will be shipped to you on the 20th.  I will accept payment when they are in hand.

Well, I just got my two Sapphire 280x for $290 each.  I paid for shipping.

$375 is o-k price I guess for those that don't mind paying a premium.  I don't personally.

It is a savings of ~$50 per card before you even factor taxes in.  They are going for $420 on newegg at the moment.  When you want to buy 6+ cards the savings definitely add up.

At the current price-gouging prices, yes you are correct.

MSRP was $299 for them and they sold at that price.  I watched NewEgg slowly raise the price $40 each time got new stock in and sold out, and currently at $420.  NewEgg and Amazon did the same with the GTX 690 and Titans at launch for a few weeks.

Like I said, 375 is an o-k price if you don't mind paying a premium to have it now now now.  There are better deals to be had, though usually used.

I'd offer $325 for being new if that's what these are.

GLWS!

"Gauging Interest"  No problem, here's my opinion:  $50 off inflated prices is NOT $50 off "retail".  I'll never buy into hype.  Paid $310 w/ free shipping for my XFX 280X's 7 days ago.

So my interest in this deal = NONE

But hey, thanks for asking!

I wouldn't say none.  Let some others reply - I am just one person!

I am sure others wouldn't mind paying that amount as it seems things do sell at $350 to $400 for those cards here.

I only speak for myself.  Only gauged 'my' interest.  I don't doubt that there may be others interested for various reasons.  alt method of purchase, shipping location, etc etc... but for my situation I can get wait until prices come down.  all i'm saying.

But good luck to others and thanks for the OP providing a service.  free bumpage for you!

If you only want a couple cards, craigslist would definitely be the way to go.  If want any more than 6, it is hard to secure a reliable source which is where I would come in to play.

Misleading title. $50 off retail would be $250.. I see these cards selling many places for around $300.

An accurate title would be "$50 off the most expensive 280x you can find"

Really?  If you are serious, I would love to see where these cards are selling for $300.  I guess I may not have been looking hard enough.  At newegg, the cheapest you will find is $400, and the model that I will be providing is $420.  The most expensive one is actually $480, so the title would say $100 off retail price if I was using the most expensive one I could find.

Shopblt.com has a decent selection on cards although only preorders are available. Have never ordered from them but they seem legit.

Everyone is giving you crap because $300 is the manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP). About a month ago that is what the cards were selling for. I got 8 before they went up.

You however are still selling for cheaper than most. Seriously I would just list unlimited on eBay and see how you fare. Most people hear aren't going to want to pay more than MSRP.

Actually, I'll pay $325 for 8. :-). Hence why I offered 325 above.

Fyi, the guy from Taiwan in these same forums sells 280x for $330. Shipping is a bitch, but only $10 for each card after the first $70.  Plenty of buys verified it.

I think that will be the way to go.  Tough crowd.

Still wouldn't hurt to offer them up here.  The btc option to pay with escrow is still attractive and there could also be other incentives (location for one).  gltu
