Title: Long time lurker, over 200gh/s which makes me sad Post by: Professoruss on January 09, 2014, 04:57:33 AM Heard about btc years ago, didn't mine like an idiot with free colo. Got into it a few months ago, currently at 245gh/s for btc, could have ~5mh/s for scrypt but my power sucks.
Just dropping in and saying hi! Title: Re: Long time lurker, over 200gh/s which makes me sad Post by: Professoruss on January 09, 2014, 06:08:33 AM Also, have an abundance of 6950's

Title: Re: Long time lurker, over 200gh/s which makes me sad Post by: SeriousCoins14 on January 09, 2014, 06:33:16 AM Lol yeah in to buy 6950s.
I think you should switch over to Litecoin to be honest. The profitability of switching your power from BTC to LTC would be massive.. You could just jump on one of the exchanges and trade your LTC for BTC if thats what you really want. My rig makes me literally a pile of pennies if I try to mine BTC, I switched over to LTC and get a coin just about every ~25 hours.. the market for LTC has been swinging around 25-30 lately, not a bad choice. With that power you would make decent money. Title: Re: Long time lurker, over 200gh/s which makes me sad Post by: Professoruss on January 10, 2014, 05:31:00 AM Need to check with the guy that provided me the gpu's. Deal is, I can have them, mine, give him a cut.
Biggest problem is power for me as each 4gpu rig sucks about 8a @1000w. As far as btc, my 245gh worth of asics has done me pretty well and it will be ~800gh next week so I'm still gambling on the btc mining. For the gpu's, I'm jumping between ltc, doge, coye, etc but only have 3.5mh running since the power at my house is really old. Title: Re: Long time lurker, over 200gh/s which makes me sad Post by: jballs on January 10, 2014, 07:17:44 AM okay I checked and since this is the newb section, a newb question.
per the above, if I were to go buy a mining rig for LTC what would be the perfect setup for 1-2 coins a day? Something up for sale now that you could link to maybe? I was looking at just buying coins but pretty well geeking out on the whole scene at this point and would like to give it a shot, or at least see if I can. Thanks... Now I look like an ass. I looked back since I'm not constantly mining ltc and realized I had a couple rigs on it that day. Title: Re: Long time lurker, over 200gh/s which makes me sad Post by: jballs on January 24, 2014, 05:54:13 AM Stupid power rates in CA you could rent space in my place but I think AZ rates suck too. But here was a thought http://www.aps.com/library/rates/ET-EV.pdf You get a pretty steep break for an electric vehicle plan. You might have to lease an EV but if you didn't drive it much (or charged it at a public meter instead), well I would see if Cali has the option and then run your mining rig off the EV charger. Not saying it pencils just something to look into. |
